  1. This seems to work better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ne3TUiqIL-E
  2. Thanks for the tips. My belts seem quite tight, even though I don't extra tensioners. I don't think that is the problem. I think it is something with the Z-axis or Z-screw. I made a video of what the Z-axis sounds like, by pressing 'Auto home'. When the X-axis gets near the top, a strange sound appears around 0:17-0:24. (this fits with the height where the ultimaker "jumps". Does anyone know exactly what causes this? I'm guessing something is not straight or square, but can't seem to see anything wrong, when I control the machine. See the video here: http://youtu.be/Ne3TUiqIL-E
  3. Thank you for your answers. Some quick answers: - It's PLA - It occurs on all prints, but just started one month ago. (i assembled the Ultimaker last december) - I always use Cura. I will check both the Z-screw and fan, and get back to you with a report. Both sound like plausible explanations.
  4. Recently, I have been experiencing that all my prints have a thick line at 10mm height, no matter how many mm3 the base area is. Has anyone experienced this before? See example here:
  5. ah, thanks, didn't think of that. The folder contained an "ä"
  6. While trying to slice a file, Cura goes "something went wrong during slicing!", and on the last line of the report, it says: UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xe4' in position 61: ordinal not in range(128) Does this make any sense to anyone? I run Cura on a new W7 computer, and have just updated to Cura 12.12 The file was modelled in SolidWorks. The entire report: File C:XXXXX is being chain exported. Carve procedure took 4 seconds. Preface procedure took 1 second. Inset procedure took 17 seconds. Fill procedure took 39 seconds. Speed procedure took 1 second. Raft procedure took 17 seconds. Skirt procedure took 1 second. Comb procedure took 1 second. Cool procedure took 2 seconds. Dimension procedure took 1 second. 7. Could you please give a brief idea of which menu points this includes?
  8. I'm new with the Ultimaker/Ulticontroller, an although many of the menupoints in the controller are self explanatory, I miss an instruction/function map or other explanatory illustration, to fully understand the capability of the device. Does anyone know if it exists? Or want's to make one?
  9. Hi You're absolutely right, I've assembled it the wrong way, and now that I found out I can't belive I didn't think of that.. I'll try the correct way, and then use bolts, in case I have already messed up the threads.. thanks!
  10. oops, didn't know I had to resize the image.
  11. Sure: See the attached image. But I ended up going down to the hardware store and bying some more 16mm M3s, with nuts, so I could attach them on the backside of the plywood. Does you think it will be a bad idea?
  12. Hi already on my first step of assembly, I have encountered a problem: The holes which the 6 limit switches should be mounted in are way too big for the M3x10s to fit. Anyone has a good idea on how to make the holes smaller?
