  2. So i did some test and one give me good result. With Cura 13.10 and not Cura 13.12 i tried to print with the same setting i'm using for the other test and i had a better result not perfect but much better. So i tried with "quick print" in "High quality print" and tada :D no more gaps !! Perfect top.

I'm gonna do one more test and after that post my settings. Sounds good huh !!

  3. I tired with the fan off not difference. I'm editing the time laps now. If i send you my Gcode can you try it, just to be sure it's coming from the printer and not anything else ??

I'm trying to isolate the problem.

  4. So i tried :

-printing first layer at 0.1 layer height, just to check if the first layer is good because it's 0.2 layer height : first layer stay the same !

-printing the first layer at 50mm/s, for the same reasons and same result.

So if i apply the same parameter to the print i still have this problem.

    For the bottom/top thickness i'm at 0.6, i'll try 0.8.

I adjust the belts and try with a flow up to 210 and temp 215C it's a little better but not that good.

I didn't try without fan, what would be the problem ? Blowing to hard on the first layer after infill ?

I'm doing a time laps right now, so you will see ;)

  5. No i'm not changing filament diameter, i measured it and they have the same and very constant diameter.

I'm doing some tests right now. So far i tried on the same print 210C and 215C at 50mm/s but it's not changing anything so on the second one i tried to reduce speed at 50% and temp at 220C but not better.

I'm gonna try flow adjustment and to tight belts.

I realy dont understand how the problem can occur because if the bottom layers are mostly ok but just after the infill it's going crazy. I can do what ever i want nothing change it's like the UM is making fun of me ! :)

  6. Thanks for the info.

So yesterday i did a lot of test on a little print. At the same temp (210C) and same speed (50mm/s) with colorfabb and Faberdashery PLA but the results are totally random !

I upgrade to direct drive weeks ago and since i had perfect or nearly perfect top and bottom. I think i changed nothing since but it's like Cura detect when it's time to build the top and do what you can see in the picture.

I've other problems on my prints but this one is driving me crazy…illuminarti big thanks for your answers !! :)

  7. Hi guys,

Is there someone who can tell me what this error log in the "term" tab means :

I've some strange "under extrusion" on my top layers. I've a good bottom at 35mm/s 210C and just after the infill all the layers look under extruded.

    Any ideas ?

  8. Hi guys,

I've a stupid question, where can i find the plugins for Cura and how i instal them on a Mac version ?

I did read the Ultimaker wiki but didn't find my answer.

    Thanks and Happy new year.

  9. Hi,

So i did re-run the wizard, temp problems are gone !! :) I put my motors on direct drive and it's awesome ! No more backlash or ugly top/bottom layers.

The intresting thing is that in order to do the upgrade i had to loose all the long belts. I directly print after the big instal and the first print was PERFECT. So i guess that means my "missing" or "miss placing" line issue is due to the large blet tension.

Can it be to much ? I've the banana tensioner, is this one good ?

If the large blets dont have exaclty the same tension, is that a problem ?

  10. Sorry gr5, i'm french and my english is not perfect.

And yes the temp oscillates but it's only on the first 6/7 layers i think. I'll check the PID and let you know.

It's an UM 1 with ulticontroller.

I printed a batch of banana belt tensioner and i noticed that on those print on front the problem is more present than those at the back. Do you think my problem can be the bed level ?

(Very sorry for my english it's not always easy.)

  11. Thanks guys. I'm not at my place right now but as soon as i get there, i'll try to slice/check/print and send you pictures and gcode.

I think it can really be slicing issue because my belts are very very very tight (maybe too much) and i don't think i had this kind of issues 1or 2 months ago.

But your right i do have backlash issues and i'll put my motor on direct drive as soon as i get my couplers.

Juste one more question, i've the ultimaker since september and i did not update the firmware in it (it's the original one). I've to do something ? Update or change for different ? (it's the part i dont understand very well).

    Thanks again for your help.

  12. Hi guys,

I just want to know if anyone can help me with my new problem. I'm sure it's not under extrusion or over extrusion because i tried with different temp and speed but nothing changed.

Looks like the line of the same layers are not always perfectly alined. This happened more on big and complex print.

Just so you know : i've tightened all the belts (a lot) and pulley's screws add some lub on the axes. Bed is leveled (might not be perfect but leveled).
