  1. Just posted a new design: eSherpa 2.0 outrunner.

Completely new design of the famous eSherpa. With a direct drive it is more compact and much lighter (5 kilos incl. fully charged battery!;-). With attachments it can be optimized for various transportation purposes. Now it has nice features like free-wheeling, battery control and USB charger...

What do you think about this?

    Ralf

  2. Not only in yours...

It seems that we now get 'random' pictures with the designs

    • It is not all designs

    • It is consistent (same design always gives same wrong pictures).

In case it helps, here are 2 examples:

Note that when you 'search' a design, the thumbnail image is correct (search 'reptar' for the above examples)

Like the flower design of you XY blocks! ;-)

But serious..To me this looks like a simple problem in the web programming. Should be easy to fix for the programmer ...

  3. Hi UltiArjan

I also have problems with YouMagine.

Perhaps changes to the front end are currently being made, or the site was hacked.

Users can see current foreign images which are definitely not part of my designs.

    The following view is wrong:

Only when I am logged in, I see the original published Images.

    The following view is correct:

This is total rubbish. In the end you may get even worse, because of the publication of any foreign imagery...

Whatever happened, it slowly becomes unbearable.

    - Scrolling through the designer list contains tons of fake accounts.

    - Compatibility with some browsers is insufficient.

    - The snippet in forums postings shows for months random empty fields instead of existing designs.

    - The comfort of Thingiverse it does not have to beat, but it should at least work fundamentally.

    Markus

    Same with me!

Logged in i see the right picts - logged out i see some foreign picts...

    I´m on safari..

    :-(

  4. someone has noticed that the youmagine signatures no longer work?

When i browse through the forum the signature of a lot members only show a ? (for a not found picture).

I played around with my profile settings and didn't get the youmagine showreels to work properly...

    Finally i found this BBCode:

    [YouMagineDesign=esherpa--17]

to show one design (i have only one design so this is good for me

Must every member with a youmagine signature edit his settings?

  5. Also for me Cura 14.11 RC7 will not work on Yosemite 10.10.1:

19.11.14 14:27:21.795 Cura[80900]: GLUT Warning: glutInit being called a second time.

    19.11.14 14:27:21.900 Cura[80900]: Cura Error

But 14.09 still works fine for me...

  6. "They see me rollin', they hatin'"

Very cool :) I love how you get passed all the others that are carrying their bags, nice projects and great of you to let it be opensource

What's the autonomy of the device?

The battery last for six turns. This is good for a complete "working" day in high season. But a second battery is always fully loaded at home...

BTW: How can i get this youmagine link into my signature?

  7. Wow, didn't think that parts that strong could be done with an UM2.. what is it, ABS?

Yes, its printed in ABS. I printed one version in PLA but after i forgot the device in the hot sun the black telescope was heated up so much that some parts get warped...

Most of the strength come from a clever construction. The two axis parts gets connected with two 5 mm steel bolts...

  8. Since about 3 years i was thinking about a little machine which can make my life as a tandem pilot a little bit easier.. i know i have the best job in the world but there is only one bad point: carrying 25 kg stuff uphill.

But since i got my UM2 i was able to print out a old dream of mine.

    The eSherpa

I am interested to know what you guys are thinking about a 3D printable offroad electro trolley...

  9. When i was waiting for my UM2 i was following this topic and i was sure that one of extruder improvements will be one of my first prints...

But since i own my UM2 i did a lot of printing.. loooong prints of about 45h each and i have to say that i never had a problem with the original feeder... the only problem i discovered that sometimes the filament is a little tangled on the reel and can blocking the feeder cause the normal way the filament has to go is really not good...

So i did a quick construction which helps me a lot. Its simply a bearing, a bottle filled with about 700 gramm of water and a hairdryerbended piece of filament. when the reel is blocking the bottle gets pulled up and mostly it goes down by itself again when there is a retraction or a quick infill and the printer is shaking if this doesn't work the blue piece of filament comes up and i see (when im around) that there is a bigger problem. The other good thing is that the filament gets stretched a little and feeds the extruder perfectly..

Just upgraded the simple feeder helper .... see the video .... what shall i do when i like to print but the printer is busy with a 40h print ... i take my hairdryer ;-)

  10. Glad to see that deliveries are speeding up :)

It's a long time to wait but you quickly forget the frustration of waiting once you receive your fantastic printer :)

Ammmmh, this is just a short wakeup from a 100 hour print job since i got my UM2 at tuesday :-)

ITS WORTH EVERY SINGLE DAY OF YOUR WAITINGTIME!

(train your 3D modeling skills [MOI fits fantastic to cura for me])

sorrrryy, but i have to keep on printiiiiiiing........

  11. YES! I also get my shipment notification today! I ordered at 14 February :D

Thanks to Ultimaker! And thanks to this forum and his great members to make the waiting time to something like a eye wink

    edit:

    should arrive at 08. April

Thats a little bit more than 7 weeks including shipping

    YES Ultimaker GOOOOO!

  12. Recently some videos have turned up on the new Conrad printer. The brand name is "Renkforce" which I think is connected to xlr plugs and the like.

The thing looks extremely well, if not overbuilt. German over engineering at its best...so that got me curious and I had a look at the Conrad website. The thing has been on sale for only a couple days and it has gotten some devastating consumer comments already....just what I expected from Conrad. They have an inimitable way of goofing up on seemingly sure fire things.

A couple of things are included in this printer that I think might be interesting on the UM wishlist. Automated bed leveling capable of compensating for a warped build plate, and a software trick to tweak the distance between extruder and printbed during the first few layers.

Now this Conrad printer is deliverable! Also for me this thing was interesting... but today i found the first user commend on conrads website:

    -------------------

    (sorry its in german):

    Nachteile: unbrauchbar

Fazit: Vollkommen ungereiftes Produkt.

    Google translation:

    -------------------

    Cons: unusable

I 've only had problems with this half-baked 3D printer.

First I had incredible problems with the procurement of the part. After a lot of time and a trip to another store I had the printer at home then .

This is then crashed constantly and just did not work .

Returned to the store and demanded a replacement. This was sent from a different location and has had to wait again 5 days at himself .

When I got the call to pick I have made myself hit the trail . Arrived home with the device , I realized that the pressure bed is broken. No wonder, with the lean transport safety : Low to 2 strips 50mm tape.

The unit I have , of course, again returned and again waiting for a replacement.

The third Prints I then unpacked and checked the same in business. The same image as in the second Printer: The pressure plate completely scratched because it is probably flown through the whole printer during transport. We then swapped the plate against the first printer on site .

At home , the printer has then given up the ghost after about 25 hours of operation : The engine for Filamentzufuhr has not moved . The pressure was therefore also over .

Conclusion : Totally ungereiftes product. How can it be that such an immature product is offered at this price. Here, Conrad has once neat shot themselves in the foot and lost me a lot of confidence and seriousness .

I would buy this printer never again . Do I still continue to support Conrad also written in the stars .

In the end i guess that UM as still time to conquer germany ;-)

    :D;)
