When there are missing layers, it usually indicates that the design has errors. I would suggest you run it through a repair service such as https://makeprintable.com/ to automatically fix those errors.

Hi there,
I agree with gr5, the first thing that came to my mind when you mentioned SketchUp is the file has non-manifold issues. Sketchup is not very good with making models that are solid. I would always suggest for you to run your models through a repair service just to ensure that the model is free of any errors. The best way is to upload it to https://www.MakePrintable.com and it’ll fix it automatically, there is also a SketchUp plugin that you can download from the site.

You can still use Blender to create 3D models for 3D printing. Just make to run it through a repair service to ensure that your design doesn't have any 3D printing errors. I would definitely suggest that you upload the model if you're still having a problem that way someone can take a look at it and see what's causing the issue. Sometimes it could be an error in your file that you have missed. Especially SketchUp is not good with making watertight models. Anyways, I hope you are able to print your model.

Have you tried checking it with X-Ray view? The model might have 3D printing errors. Run it through one of the repair services to make sure it's printable. I would suggest that you try https://makeprintable.com/, it's free and automatic. Another option is to check it with meshlab.

Just like peggyb already pointed out that when it shows red it means the model has errors. If you want a quick fix then run it through MakePrintable. You can also download Netfabb or another option is meshmixer.

The model might have some errors. Have you tried running it through one of the repair tools such as https://makeprintable.com/ just to ensure there isn't any 3D printing errors.

I am not sure if you already managed to print it or not. Just like it's been said before red areas do indicate error in the model. I would suggest to try is to run it through on one of the repair services. Someone already suggested Netfabb but if you want a quick fix try https://makeprintable.com/. Also, meshmixer is another one. It really depends on what you need.

Just like what nallath said, Sketchup is bad at making printable models. Your best choice is to always check your models if they are printable before printing them. To fix them you can either manually fix them using http://www.meshlab.net/ or use an automatic repair service such as MakePrintable or meshmixer
