Hi gr5. I followed your guide, but with my printer seems to not work. When printing the first layer I see that there is little material in the platen.

Could you share some photo's of what your first layer looks like? Thanks! :)

For now I made the adjustment by eye. The first layer looks perfect, we must see the measures of the piece if they are correct. Tonight I update you.

  3. Hello to all. Unfortunately I get back here talking to expose another issue concerning my Ultimaker 3. While I was doing a press, known of the extruder jumps, control and I see those cracks that are visible from the pictures that I post. I am sorry that this happens, I hope you can help me. Thank you.

  4. Hi @Vapelounge, thank you for your messages.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling satisfied at the moment. Lets see if we can help you get your Ultimaker under control :)

If I understand correctly, you had difficulties with Formfutura PVA, and a dirty nozzle. You cleaned it and it worked fine for a little bit.

Then you had a clogged nozzle again, and also Ultimaker PVA didn't work.

    Correct?

First of all, I think it is good to realize, PVA is not an easy material to print with. Just the moist in the air can influence it already. It burns easily in the nozzle. That has nothing to do with the machine, but you are trying to print with a difficult material.

Because it is tricky, we did our best to generate a default profile for you to use, to eliminate as much risk as possible.

This Cura-profile is designed around Ultimaker PVA. I would recommend, to clean your nozzle once again, like you did the first time, and start a new print with Ultimaker PVA.

Due to our open filament system, feel free to experiment or use other materials, but I would recommend to do so once you have gained some more experience with 3D printing and the Ultimaker 3, so you can make your own Cura profile and know what you are doing.

Let me know if you have any questions, looking forward hearing from you!

Thanks for the reply. Now I will try your advice. If I can end the printing I'll let you know if everything went well.

  5. Good morning everyone. I'm trying to print an object with PVA supports but. I have the following problems. When I enter the PVA in tie Advancer and the car drives him, at some point it seems that the motor turns but does not push the wire, well now I tighten the screw in such a way as to give more friction to the wire. Printing begins and it's okay for a while, at one point known that never leaves the PVA filament, control the thread and find it all eaten. Can you help me? Thanks to those who help me.

  6. I still like this one, although on some materials a bit more friqtion is better to stop the spool from spontaneous unwinding...

    https://www.youmagine.com/designs/low-friction-um2-spoolholder

On the UM3 I like to keep 1 spool on the back , and the 2th spool on the side. Used the spoolholder, but directly mounted to a piece of plywood. It fits the 1 Kg Extrudr green-tec spools.

    thx so much bro

picture is a UM2+ but its the same setup

  7. I don't think you need to tighten the straps. You just need to tighten the pulleys. The pulleys are not supposed to rotate on their shafts - they are supposed to be attached to the shaft. There is a small screw to connect them together. If that screw isn't tight enough then the pulley slips a tiny amount and can cause "layer shifting".

I'm not sure that you even have layer shifting. There is no photo above that shows layer shifting. It usually looks like this. Actually I should have you just read this:

    http://support.3dverkstan.se/article/23-a-visual-ultimaker-troubleshooting-guide#shifted

It's for the um2 but the pulleys are identical between um2 and um3.

    Thx bro.

Hello. Do you advise me to use the Ultimaker materials because the machine is set to just go with your own?

The combination of Cura with all the quality profiles and the UM3 and the Ultimaker materials is thoroughly tested. You will get excellent results in terms of print quality and reliability.

Ultimaker sells an open system, and you can choose to use other filaments. No problem with me, but often that means you have to spend time on optimising print settings and dealing with failed prints, because materials from different suppliers have different properties.

Hi friend. I checked the straps, one was slightly slow. I tried to pull it, it works, but then you loose the belt of the opposite side. So I don't understand where I'm wrong.

  9. Ciao.

    Ciao

Provo a fare come consigli. Grazie.
