I have been running Cura 4.1. I have two printers, One an Ender 3 Pro and the other a Wanhao I3. When I upgraded to Cura 4.2 the profiles for the Ender 3 disappeared. If I switch to the Wanhao I3 I can see the Ender 3 profiles. I had exported the Ender 3 profiles while 4.1 was loaded. When I try to import them into 4.2 I get ... "The machine defined in profile C:/Downloads/1/Ender3B - PLA Pro - 0.28mm.curaprofile (fdmprinter) doesn't match with your current machine (creality_base), could not import it." I reinstalled 4.1 and can see the Ender 3 Profiles from 4.1.
