Hi,
I've a Felix Pro L printer.
Until now, I've been using S3D as main slicer & printer software.
However, the situation at S3D (the company) makes me want to look for an alternative/backup slicer.
Cura is of course one of the alternatives I'm looking at. So I've some questions to get started :
1. How can someone create a profile for the Pro L, so it appears in the list of printer profiles to choose from? (I know you can create a complete customized FFF profile, but it would be handy if one would be created, which can be used for all Pro L owners out there)
2. Is there an alternative way for Cura to support "network" printing for non-Ultimaker printers?
By this I mean simply send the generated gcode to the printer (it does not "need" to manage the printer)
In S3D we can do this by a post processing script, which uses the printer's API (the Felix Pro L runs Repetier server internally):
"curl.exe" -i -X POST -H "Content-Type: multipart/form-data" -H "x-api-key: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" -F "a=upload" -F "filename=@[output_filepath]" "http://10.10.10.28:3344/printer/model/Felix_Pro_L" -F "group=Default"
3 Anyone who has moved from S3D to Cura who is willing to share tips or lessons learned?
(it looks like most of the transition work like settings etc will be a manual task)
Thanks for the feedback
