Hi, Sorry if I am hijacking this thread but I am seeing a strange behaviour and came across this post when trying to find a solution. I am using Cura 5.3.0 with an IDEX printer, although the particular issue I am exeriencing is not specific to a particular printer. My issue is manifesting itself through the start G-Code variable {initial_extruder_nr} being incorrect when performing a single extruder print with the second extruder. An example setup which should allow someone to replicate and verify this behaviour would be:- 1. Add the following to the Start G-Code setting of your IDEX printer: ;The initial extruder is T{initial_extruder_nr} 2. With both Extruder 1 and Extruder 2 active, Set: Support Extruder => Extruder 1 Support Interface Extruder => Extruder 1 Build Plate Adhesion Extruder => Not Overriden 3. Disable Extruder 1. 4. Slice the file and check the Comment in the start G-Code. It will incorrectly state ';The initial extruder is T0' even though that extruder is disabled. 5. Re-enable Extruder 1 and set: Support Extruder => Extruder 2 Support Interface Extruder => Extruder 2 Build Plate Adhesion Extruder => Extruder 2 6. Disable Extruder 1 7. Reslice the file and check the comment. It should now correctly read ';The initial extruder is T1'. 8. Re-enable Extruder 1 and change the model to print from Extruder 1. Leave the following settings as: Support Extruder => Extruder 2 Support Interface Extruder => Extruder 2 Build Plate Adhesion Extruder => Extruder 2 9. Disable Extruder 2 10. Slice the file and check the comment. It should correctly read ';The initial extruder is T0', even though we had set Extruder 2 to be used for the build plate ashesion and support. From some trial and error, it appears that Cura is silently changing the 'Support Extruder' and 'Build Plate Adhesion Extruder' settings to Extruder 1 when Extruder 2 is disabled (as in step 9). However, Cura is not automatically changing the 'Support Extruder' and 'Build Plate Adhesion Extruder' settings to Extruder 2 when Extruder 1 is disabled (as in Step 3). I have been using Steps 5-7 as a workaround to get my prints going, however this is not ideal as it is easy to miss, especially due to the fact that the settings for 'Support Extruder', 'Support Interface Extruder' and 'Build Plate Adhesion Extruder' are hidden when only 1 extruder is active.
