  1. Yes indeed, I don’t expect the world from it to be honest, but is surely seems to be a good way to familiarize with the (new to me) world of 3D-printing 😁
  2. Okay … Thanks for your suggestion, this DOES turn out to be the solution to this issue! Despite the fact that I (wrongly!) assumed the make I had was an Original, i gave it a try and just added the printer as an Original+, uodater the firnware … and … WORKS! Thanks again for giving the solution to this, at the end simple, problem!!
  3. Thanks for your suggestion. It is an “Original” with a heated printbed. And the printer is the same as I selected in Cura and for which I updated the firmware.
  4. Good morning, After getting an Ultimaker Original recently, which hasn’t been touched for a while, I had first made a couple of succesful test prints over the last few days. Before wanting to create another print uesterday, I decided to use the latest Cura version 5.6.0, to run a firmware upgrade. According to the Cura message, the firmware update was succesful. An (in my view) interesting observation was that the LCD screen appeared to be ‘overwritten’ with a code … I can’t recall what it was exactly, but I believe it was a 3 character code/cobination, containing UM (?) and a digit … not sure though. this character combination was at the end appearing at all lines of the screen. Restarting the Ultimaker Original did finally result in an LCD screen without any content, just empty blue ‘backlight’ as shown on the picture. Any clue on how I can resolve this? Somehow I feel I may need to try to get back to a previous version of the firmware, but with downgrading the Cura application to version 2.5 (the oldest version I could find in the archive) and updating the firmware from that, did not result in a fix thus far. On the forum I also found that adjusting the potentiometer R3 could resolve the issue … also gave that a try, but no luck either. Ah, last but not least, the printer does not operate well anymore either. It is still visible/accessible from within Cura, but it seems completely decalibrated or so. Any suggestions appreciated! Kind regards, jos
