Does the Cura mount method destroy SD cards under Linux?

I have been using a lot of SD cards for 12 years because of my photography hobby. I have always used Linux and have never had an SD card break since then. Five months ago I bought a 3D printer which can only be used with an SD card, and since then three SD cards have broken under Cura 5.5-AppImage. Problem due to congruent mount methods, coincidence or statistical equalization?
