Does the Cura mount method destroy SD cards under Linux?

I have been using a lot of SD cards for 12 years because of my photography hobby. I have always used Linux and have never had an SD card break since then.

Five months ago I bought a 3D printer which can only be used with an SD card, and since then three SD cards have broken under Cura 5.5-AppImage.

Problem due to congruent mount methods, coincidence or statistical equalization?

Could you please be more specific about "break"? I've never had any problems with saving to SD under Windows or Linux because Cura doesn't actually handle mounting the card or anything in either OS.

(Also if you could say what printer you have and what distro you're using that would help)
