  1. Hi, I started the construction of my first stl-objekt with Turbo CAD V17 as an volume body. Exported to Netfabb as .stl for repairing. Then opened with cura for slicing and printing. I've added some pictures / screenshots : I choosed in cura 100% density for a solid objekt. But neither the slice nor the print is solid. Could somebody help me? Untill now I did not found a realy good tutorial for creating stl-objects. The short small dumb videos of Netfabb aren't very helpfull. kyma 5
  2. Hi Daid, that's the reason why the community is so glad, that you've decided to go to UM. The picture shows, that your diagnosis was right: one of the both pins was bent to the middle, so that the jumper was loose and brought a defective contact. So the cube wasn't 40mm high, but only a little bit to high. Now it prints much better and i can print the belt tensioner. Thanks a lot. Thomas
  3. I forgot to say, that the UM folks were very friendly and helpfull !!
  4. After weeks of hardware problems I started yesterday with the first prints. I've studied a few of threads with this issue. But I found no solution for my problem. I use: cura 12.08 normal quality print PLA 230C speed 100% Windows 7 here is my ugly 20mm cube, and then Itryied to print belt tensioner, also ugly and in the z-axis to big. some ideas? Thanks Thomas
  5. It's great for UM and the hole community! Thomas
  6. Hi, I found In the current Netfabb version it's easy to change the baudrate!! Thanks, everythink works..... Thomas
  7. Hi, Thanks for your help. It's difficult to change the bautrate to 250k in Netfabb. So I've to load the standart current arduino firmware again and then it's possible to change between the several softwares? And Cura can handle 115200 ? Thomas
  8. Hi, First I connected the UM with Netfabb, it works. Afterwards I installed the current cura, upgraded the firmware and made some experiments with cura. Then I wanted to change to Netfabb. But now Netfabb don't connect anymore. I had this problem some weeks ago and much trouble getting connected the UM to Netfabb again. Daid said, he will fix the problem. What shell I do now? Everytime change the firmware if I want to change the software? Any help/ advice would be appreciated. Thomas
  9. Hi, forget my question! It is solved: A small grub screw on the steppersite of the Z axis wasn't fixed...... Sorry!

  11. Hi, untill my last post I had hard times with my UM. At least I found the reason for all my problems: The main cabel from the arduino to the extruder head made a short circuit!!!! It damaged two platines bevor I found the reason, that the red and the black wire was switched . So VCC was connected to GND and GND to VCC. The UM support says that this spezial problem occurs only the secound time. With a new cabel, a 3. new PCB the UM connects normal. So, if you've the same problems, check the wires at the big cabel on the small white connctor on the thermocouple PCB! yellow / red / black is the right order.
  12. Hi, if I start printing, the platform comes up and stops ca 5 mm under the extruder nozzle. Then the printing motion begins I had the same problem with Netfabb. The the top limit switch for z axis close, if the the nozzle has a distance of the thickness of a papersheet to the top of the platform. What can I do?
  13. Hi folks, I've assembled my UM and wants to print with the current version of Netfabb. I've calibratedthe platform (Z axis) with a sheet of paper and the four srews, set the endstop. Before starting, I've moved manually the Head in the 0-0-0 Position. If I start to move the Head with the curser control x / y works fine. But z not! It moves down, but not up again to the 0,00. It stopps ca 10mm under the head. So the first print starts in the air, 10 mm over the platform. I've found no topic for this problem. Thomas
  14. Hi daid, that would be great!
  15. Hi, the ultimaker folks want a log from repG. But since I had installed cura repG doesn't works anymore. I've read about this in some threads here at the forum. But I dindn't found how I can fix the problem. I want to run repG for the log. They(ultimaker) said, that they can't support cura (not yet..)....
  16. Hi, I removed the smal PCB. It is not a TC1 but a TC2. It has no diode on it. Only the LED, one resistor, one capacitor and the AD597A. I've checked the LED, it works. I've no idea how to check the AD597. But I think it's not my job. Until now, no reply from the ultimaker support folks. :-(
  17. Thanks, so I'll do it tomorrow. soldering small things is not my problem, because I use to develop my own smd PCB's. Thats the reason why I wanted the Ultimaker: I want to develop and create my own cases for special small electronic gadgets..;-)
  18. I'll wait until tomorrow, looking for a reply of Ultimaker support. to reach the diode I' ve to remove the hole head, axis and have to disassemble the headbox? Is that right? Thanks for helping
  19. Oh, thanks. Then the small PCB has a problem.........I'll wait for reply from Ultimaker support.
  20. I've replaced both, arduino and ultimaker electronics. I've repeated the measure. Now I've got 5V between black and red and 4.5 V between yellow and red. Should the blue light shine if the head platine gets 5 V? Or is it depending from the software status? I've sended a mail to ultimaker support. Thanks
  21. I've measured 5V at the head side of the cabel. an 200 mV between the two outer pins. This is already my secound board, the first board had trouble with connecting, you have seen my thread..... Do you think the small head board is dammaged? Can I try somthing else to diagnose? Thanks for your help kyma5
  22. There is no blue light. Where should it be? Head or PCB? The 3 pin temperature cabel ist firmly connected at both ends. Connected to temp1. No resistors at R4,R21 and R23. Yes, I've a multimeter. Thanks
  23. Hi After reading a lot of threads, I started my Ultimaker with cura. Upgraded the firmware. Started the first step wizard. Now I found the error message: Error: Extruder switched off, MAX TEMP triggered ! Error: Printer stopped deu errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. I controlled the cabel connection (yellow / red ) on the head, it's correctly connected, yellow on the left, red on the right. I've checked all connections on the PCB, no visible problems.............. What should I do now? Thanks for Help. kyma5
  24. Hi, I finished assembling my Ultimaker. Now I´ve some problems: If I switch on the Ultimaker without connecting the pc, all the motors makes ugly noises. I installed replicatorG, NetFabb and cura on my computer. No programm is able to find my Ultimaker. If I installed cura, I could see that now the arduino drivers was installed. Then cura tryed to update the firmware. The process started but stopped afeter secounds. After this event each trying was aborted with the error " Is the machine connected to your PC?" It is. But it doesn´t work at all. I tryed with Ultimakers supply switch on and off. No difference. What can I do?
