  1. Okay thank you everyone! its printing with supports so fingers crossed that will work. But I don't know why, but whenever i try to bridge it never seems to work well, is it normal? As look at this:
  2. Thanks for your reply! Yes i didn't use any supports, i was using cura with the UM2. Okay I shall do that. Is there anyway i can make them supports with Cura? Thanks
  3. Sorry my friend i'm very new to all of this and i didn't understand much of that, so bridging is basically what i am trying to do? have a raised part of the object go across not touching the surface? What do you mean by bed off? and it only is about 2mm off the surface, can i still use supports? Thank you for your help!
  4. Okay i am prototyping a product using a ultimaker 2, 3mm PLA, and this was printed on 'normal quality', and i am doing a type of switch mechanism, and this side has to be flat on the bed, but it has to indent in a bit, about 1cmx3cm and 2mm thick, but as you can see because its hovering it comes out a mess, how can i fix this? Thank you very much! I really hope you can help
  5. Thank you very much for your replies!! The main problem was to do with a blockage, but you were also right about the platform not being level. Thank you for all the help, the problem has been solved i really appreciate it!
  6. Thank you for the reply! I'm using pla, at 210 degrees, and I went on the quick print settings and it's doing it at high quality. Using nothing on the bed. Thank you!
  7. Hello everyone! hope everyones having a good day! Okay I've just come across another problem, why is my print doing this? :( Im trying to print out a phone case, and the first layer hasn't gone that great, will it get better? Thanks Luke
  8. Hello everyone, another question! I am going to need to be able to change the quality of different parts of an object at different times of the print. How do i go about this? if there are any good youtube videos or topics on the forum that explains how in the simplest way as i am a complete newbie and don't know a lot about 3d printing. Any help will be great and i'll really appreciate it!
  9. Thank you so much for all of your replies! it improved the print a lot and taught me a lot of new things, however once the prints came out better i could see something wasn't right and was looking at the model on cura in layers and noticed this, the two objects aren't attached. So i'm going to get that sorted and fingers crossed it will be better.
  10. Thank you very much for your reply! i tried doing the cool head lift, and everytime the nozzle went away to cool, a small amount of plastic still came out, so it messed up the end finish even more. And the same thing happened when printing 2, it just doesn't seem like its doing it accurately enough. Could you elaborate on the short belts? I'm very new to all this and am trying to learn as much as i can as i don't know much. Thank you very much for your help Luke
  11. Hello everyone! Thanks for all the help I've received so far! I'm trying to print a small part for a switch mechanism, the actual object is 3cm x 1cm and 1.3mm thick, but there are 2 prongs coming off it that are about 3x1mm thick, but at the top of the prong a small bulge curves off it. I've attached all the pictures, and as you can see when it prints the prongs are basically just a mess. I printed it in the highest quality i could. How can i improve this please? this needs to be as accurate as possible, i really hope you can help! Thankyou very much!
  12. No it doesn't seem like it, the only option i have is to continue
  13. I don't think i can do this as i am on the set up menu?:( I'm using PLA that came new with the printer
  14. Thank you so much for the reply! Will it not damage it if i force it? As it seems to be in pretty tight? Thanks!
  15. I just received my Ultimaker 2, and I was setting up and everything was going fine, until I had to put the filament in, it went in about 10cm then stopped flowing, and the bit that turns started to chew up the filament, I don't want to do anything wrong so I have just left it, what do i do?? Thanks!
  16. Would you accept £900 for the printer? As there are new ones selling on ebay for around £1200 Thanks! Luke new ones on ebay are 1350ish Personally I would stay well clear of those, there was a couple of sellers selling them before when I was looking and buyers never actually got them... or got them and they weren't new. Try asking them about the warranty and receipt details, which is why you are buying them new. You will find you don't get answers very quickly... Yes I agree, I'll be doing a lot of homework before purchasing off Ebay! I'm an 18 year old entrepreneur with a very tight budget for my business so anything I can do to reduce my start up cost will help me a lot. I don't mean to be insulting with my offer, but I will be able to collect. If you change your mind and want a quick sale, just call me on 07511609844.
