I shifted the model and it dropped onto the build plate, thanks Will turning off build plate adhesion and setting the travel avoid distance to 0 have any negative effect on the print?

I don't have access to the physical printer tomnagel, it's my college's 3D printer. Also I'm completely new to 3D printers, I'm trying to get a CAD model printed for a college project. Didn't think it would be so difficult! I've attached a screenshot of the model in Cura:

Thanks tomnagel. I've set Build Plate Adhesion Type to "None" and Travel Avoid Distance to 0mm which reduced the gray zones, but still unable to slice.

When I import my STL file into Cura I'm getting the message "Unable to Slice". The build volume of the Ultimaker 3 Extended is 215 x 215 x 300mm and my CAD model is 212 x 54 x 160mm, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Any ideas?
