Not sure it makes sense to bump this, but I just installed the Duet 2 wifi on my Ender 3, and I found this post running into the exact issue while trying to update Cura.  Curious if there are any updates to post?  I'm going to reach out to the plugin author as well and will update the post if I get a response.

Responding to this rather Necro post, since I found this while looking for my CR-10S / Duet Maestro combo.

The good news is that Cura 4.8 (I think it was added in 4.7) now has the necessary updates via a included plugin called DuetRRF that has now been integrated directly into the Preferences-> Printer under network settings. Problem is now fixed.

  2. This is a bit of an old post, don't know if it's still a problem (we're up to Cura 4.6.1 currently) but it occurs to me that this can be easily solved with the Post Processing Plugin. There's a setting in there that allows you to search and replace in the G-Code, so you could use it to remove the extra M190 commands.

Note that I think this would remove the FIRST M190, obviously not a good thing ... 🙂 But you could fix that by adding another command to the post processing - ChangeAtZ. Put it AFTER the search and replace command, change "Height" to "Layers", choose Layer 1, then set your desired print temp. Voila, you have one M190 command, starting at layer 1.

Now, I haven't tried this, never been a problem for me, just offering a possible workaround ... Don't know what this would do to any "Initial Printing Temp" or "Final Printing Temp", I suspect it would strip those too.

If you can live with one temp for the whole print, this might be a solution.

    Don't shoot the messenger...

Anyways, there's a reason it is still in the experimental category. For one thing that usually means it's not clear how to use the settings.

Hmmm. Yeah, not really yelling at YOU, but just venting. A program as sophisticated as this needs documentation that's clear. "It's experimental" is an pretty lame excuse, actually an experimental item should have MORE documentation, not LESS, eh?

How are people supposed to use something that you want feedback on if there's no proper instructions and there's been a major change to it's use?? Are we supposed to just print endless failures until we find something that works? For that one model?!!??

Seriously, this is a candidate for a "This is Broken" post on Reddit, LOL.

Regards to YOU @ctbeke and thanks for all the hard work you put into this forum, believe me I get it!! Stay healthy!!

It has since been renamed to "topography size". More details are available in this commit: https://github.com/Ultimaker/CuraEngine/commit/76e9e27b300eee37e6bf0f41af96450c6eed4779.

More details? Not really, unless you're a Mathematician or programmer!! This was hardly documented until this post (Thanks @OUPS65 !!! 🙂  )

Now you've CHANGED it and the popup AND the Settings Guide are both typical "clear as mud" descriptions. I worked for a top 10 Computer company back in the day and they had a policy of "NEVER let the engineers write the manual".

This setting and the newest change are a perfect example.

GREAT piece of tech, GREAT paying attention to the clients' needs and filling them, LOUSY documentation.
