  1. Thanks, I will look into that and check the wires also
  2. Question on the fans, because I have never really paid much attention to them. Should they be running 100% of the time while printing? When you set the fan % in Cura, that is 30% of max RPM correct? Currently none of the 3 fans are running however I had them set in cura to be running. Want to make sure they aren't supposed to be intermittently running and I am only checking them when they happen to be off during a cycle.
  3. We have had our UM3 for several years and its seen ALOT of hours. The original AA cores have been replaced. The only other AA core we have has about 42 days of hot time on it although it has been used for breakaway material and hardly ever actually extruding as we dont use it often. I tried it again at 225C this morning and jammed up quicker. I swapped back to ABS now to get a print going I need done over the weekend. I will try messing with the speed during the print, didnt think to do that. Also for the fans, none of them were running during the short time I had the printer going, at least not while I was watching. I think I had the fan set at 30%?
  4. Thanks for the input. The current printcore has about 118hrs on it. Will be ordering a couple new ones to have on hand as I am working on approvals to purchase the S5. I havent looked at the side fans, but the one in front seems to be working properly. I will try printing at 225*C and see if that helps and also keep an eye on the fans. If not, Ill swap back to ABS until the new printcores come in. What do you recommend for print speed?
  5. New here, but have been working with a UM3 extended for several years at work. We have always just printed using ABS, however I am working to try out PETG. I have done several test prints unsuccessfully. I have the print bed at 85*C, and have tried printing at 235, 245 and 255*C at the print head. Started out at 80mm/s and also tried 50 mm/s. Layer height at 0.15, material is the UM translucent blue. AA 0.4 nozzle Underlying issue seems to be the material stops feeding and is getting bound up which causes the feed wheel to chew up the filament and stop feeding. It seems to print fine for the first few minutes, then starts having issues after maybe 30 mins. Initially, I thought it was because filament wasn't getting hot enough, but at 255, seems like it should be plenty hot? Material feed tube is fairly new and hasn't had any issues feeding ABS. Any suggestions?
