Hi,

I build myself a Ultimaker the last couple of days but at the last moment it went wrong.

If I plug my usb cable into my computer I get the warning that windows does not recognize the usb device.

In the win7 device manager I see a “Unknown Device” under USB Controllers.

I tried to renew the driver pointing to de drivers in the Cura map, no luck.

I tried to download other and more drivers from the Arduino site… no Luck.

I have a win7 64bit computer, I tried to install Cura and drivers on my other Win7 32 bit computer, same problem.

Did I miss something?

I read a lot of forum here and other blogs, cannot find a solution, please help.

Although my issue wasn't quite the same ,just try removing the arduino from the main board ,then try to establish comms and download the current firmware. Replace the arduino on the main board (carefully as others have fried components when the arduino wasnt connected to the correct pins) and then see if you can see the device.

    Hi, Thanks for the reply.

But I do not quit understand what you mean, I do not understand what (arduino?) to screw loose form the main board, is that the small board on top of the big one? Than after connecting to the computer and do the firmware update (with cura I guess) I have to replace.... I understand; place it back?

I think the whole operation is quit scary, and I do not understand Ultimaker to let their users go through that hell since almost everybody uses Win7....

It's not Windows7 related, but related to the electronics of the Ultimaker. If you are unsure or uncomfortable what to do, do not hesitate to contact support. They will help you out.
