Old hot end disassembly

Posted · Old hot end disassembly

Got as far as "Step 1: The hot end" before running into serious trouble. Turns out my pre-assembled UM has the cabling done quite different and as a fun surprise, the screw is on so tight I can't seem to unloosen it to fix it. Any good ideas? The hot end is very dirty but there's no plastic blocking the screw as far as I can tell.
