Cura crashes - out of Hard Drive space

I have been using Cura to send prints to my printrbot simple metal (board version F.) I am running Cura on Mac OS X 10.6. I have been noticing during prints that the mac fan revs up when I start to print, and stays up until I close Cura (even after the print is done.) After a few hours, Cura becomes unresponsive and I have to kill it. It is really noticeable if I let a print go over night. In the morning, The Whole Mac is frozen, and I have to reset it. Also, I have noticed that my hard drive is getting written to (at a rate of about 10kb per second.) This has caused several "Hard Drive out of memory" crashes lately. Is there some way that I can fix this? I have deleted 50 gigs of old files, but the Hard Drive just fills right back up again.

    Which version of Cura?

(Cura never really writes anything to disk, unless you ask for it, as of 13.06, so there much be something strange going on)
