  1. cheerss mate... im downloading solidworks and its taking hours anyway... plus i will need to learn it, so would take me ages before i had a result myself. did you look at the photoshop file i sent you?
  2. hi si, yes mate everything will be in the exact same place... i just need the SD hole move further away from the rectangular hole on the printed bottom. i will super glue the encoder to the to the hole in the top ignoring the screw holes anyway
  3. as some of you know ive been working on a ulticontroller clone... but now the case is too small, i was wondering if someone nice soul could download the file and make it 'deeper' by 10mm approx so the SD card is further away from the face of the unit by 10mm im printing... http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:49954/#files the top.stl file any takers please
  4. im not allowed a corner... my wife goes nuts if i dont put a cup on a coaster!!! #Jealous
  5. oh ok not a massive problem... on a mac/laptop with built in cams - you can't exactly 'wedge' the whole laptop up against the side of a ultimaker haha, so can only be a USB solution only, hopefully this might be something someone will help you with ;-) ill have my fingers crossed
  6. i think you mean "exerting pressure" also: 50c in the car !!! have you ever visited the UK hahaha more like 5c
  7. I purchased my um1 to make a rear car head rest holder for an iPad mini. as i have two kids i want some sort of attachment that sits between the two head rests and the iPad sits in the middle... anyway (thats a bit in the distance) but for this build, i would need stability and strength... especially on the supporting bars that reach between the two head rests and would need to support the weight of the iPad itself. (damn kids) what would you recommend for this sort of build... layer height, density, etc. I ask so i can get an understanding of the strength of an item... at an educated guess the density would be 50%+ ps. shame no one on thingiverse or youmagine has already made one.
  8. obviously theres a lot more to go in, density, etc but as a basic when you say there is a relationship between these two figures this 'in theory' should be it?
  9. as i said I'm printing... I'm still using the ... "Fast low quality" "normal quality" <<<< always this one... "high quality" on the speed settings, what can i safely boost everything to... currently i got the "fill" at 145% this is obviously wanting to get the item printed fast as poss
  10. print at 20% speed !!!!! wow there goes my "million dollar iPhone case empire" out the window hahhaha
  11. Im just wondering what is an ideal temperature to print with eco flex pla with. at a guess it would be lower, as its already in a more pliable state nice and simple question for a change.
  12. oh ok, does anyone have some sort of photo for me to look at how it 'should' be?
  13. since my ulti is sat on my kitchen table and the wife moans that the kids could lose a finger or 10... so i thought maybe have some perspex made up for the sides any maybe a door with perspex for the front... so to start with does anyone know anywhere in the UK that will supply perspex to fit the sides of the ult v1 which fits around the "axes-caps" or a data sheet i could send to a supplier? also secondary... if anyone has done a perspex mod, does it dampen the sound a bit ? if so then i can put it in the bedroom without the wife going nuts (and yes my wife moans A LOT)
  14. thats how i did it originally but the PLA kept leaking from the top of the rectangular heating block (what ever the name of it is) but by advice i lowered the nozzle and works a dream. I was printing the odd thing once a day, now its working great I'm trying to print anything i can get my hands on haha wish i had a second printer - so ultimaker if your listening in, and need a test buddy ;-p i don't mind helping ;-) actually,. the most fun i had was to build this, id build these all day long if give the chance lol
  15. Cheers Iron, that will do perfectly =) I might even print the long one from the "remix" of that item
  16. after disassembling my print head today I've misplaced the cowmen tube clip... anyone seen a printable one?
  17. whats wrong with it =) you on about the locking nuts and nylon washers
  18. ok, so an update.... I dismantled the head, cleaned, tightened everything up adjusted some cables that were sticking out... now now look... no leaking after 2 hours of printing.... (it does look a little dirty, but its EXACTLY the same as before i started printing #overTheMoon) The quality has ROCKETED from something i though "i waisted my money" to this is exactly what I wished for... And I'm even doing my first time lapse of this print - ill post a youtube vid These forums are a god send, and the people who take time to help others out who do not need to but still use their own valuable time to rectify issues that us n00bs have are a credit to the internet... THANK YOU ALL
  19. As the title suggests... I can run the time lapse option from parallels in mac, but its a huge drain on the system resources running windows also... When i run cura from mac directly i don't see a camera option with my macbook pro's built in camera as well as my Microsoft HD-3000 usb cam. can this be added to cura please Lee
  20. well the result of my LCD when plugged into AUX2 is giving my lots of squares on the lcd... I've read that this is a good thing as it is powering up... So im guessing i WILL need to edit my firmware
  21. ummmmm ok... i was hoping to build the parts and plug it in. is it not that simple then? when i plug in the clone ulticontroller now i get loads of squares on the display. But I'm guessing I'm wiring it up wrong? update: got arduino for my mac installed... looking at github now... not sure what time looking for so re-reading your extrudable.me page - but i see what you mean, github is a crazy complicated site
  22. when you say teflon tape, isn't that plumbers tape? that non sticky thin white tape they put on pipe joints.... will that be able to cope with the heat? last thing i want to do is stick things in my print head and clog it up? if it will cope with the heat i will goto DIY store tomoz and pick some up - but want confirmation first
