  1. I was reviewing your suggestion and got to the conclusion that it will not work, because there is no precision in the areas painted red. Check this example that I am currently working on.You can see clearly that the red painted area do not correspond exactly to where each of the supports go. I even think that we should be able to remove parts of a given support.

  2. Feature Request - I would like to ask you to improve the interface of the Support Blocker. As soon as we select the part we want to delete, all the drawing becomes gray (Example 2), what is an odd behavior. I suggest that when we select the support part we want to get rid of, it just becomes red (Example 3), so that then we can see clearly what we have selected and then be able to delete it.

  3. Just to give a closure to this problem. I finally decided to sent my machine to Wishbox, a competent workshop that represents Ultimaker in Brazil. I had even to design a special wooden packaging (with some foam padding inside) to guarantee that it would fly safely to Santa Catarina State from Rio. After a thorough research they discovered that the problem was in the toothed belts that were a little bit waisted. I remember seeing some black powder acumulating on one side at the top rear of the machine. They changed the belts, adjusted the tension and my Ultimaker is now working as it were brand new.

  4. I was always able to maintain a 3D file image at the center of the screen in Cura. To do so it was just required to click at the center of the object and then I could enlarge the image at will and it would be always at the center of the screen. This is a basic feature for adequate navigation. Maybe there is a new way to solve this, but the old way does not work anymore. How should I proceed?

  5. I think that this is a smart move by Ultimaker and the explanation given is very clear: when your company becomes bigger and starts to challenge the big guys, the game becomes tougher, and any innovation that is worth a lot of money can be easily patented by any company that may sue you and oblige you to stop using it. This has happenned a lot in corporate world and even  startups must not be naive and imagine that this will not happen with them.

But...once you patent something you can decide wether you will allow other companies to use it or not, and in which special conditions. That's what Ultimaker is doing. Well done.

  6. Hi guys

Thanks for the answers. I ran out of isopropylalcohol and was using a hidrated version. Maybe this is a problem. Humidity is truly an issue, specially because I live in Ipanema, close to the beach. What is driving me crazy is that those conditions were there since I bought the machine, so it is amazing when all of a sudden things start to go south.

I am always worried about humidity, and tried a new filament that was sealed. The result improved a little but I still had poor adhesion.

The salt option is absolutely new for me. I will try it.

Thank you all for the answers

  7. Hi guys

I've printed so far hundreds of objects in PLA, and have never had problems with them sitcking to the glass. Since I upgraded to Cura 2.7, and after some time without using my machine, I cannot make parts to stick to the surface. I always used 60º C temperature and printed my PLA with nozzle at 210ºC.

Previously, when I wanted to make prints stick very hard to the glass I used hairspray with great success. Now even this solution does not work. I already cleaned very well the glass, changed material and the problem persists. Any clues?

    regards

    Celso

  8. When I export a 3D file in STL I still may open it in the original software whatever one you chose. You can check how many polygons it has and also you can render the part and know what product is that. When I said that it would be natural to expect that Cura be able to open the files it produced I didn't say anything about getting back all funcionality it had before. I would just like to see the image of the part it is related to and also, if possible, know the original settings I used. Just that. I'm happy that this is coming in Cura 2.5.

The fact is that it is absolutely obvious that, no matter how difficult it may be, the idea to be able to open a file that the software has produced is absolutely natural and the way to go.

Is it though? Your (2d) printer driver also streams data to your printer. Your printerdriver cannot load that data back in. Or as another example, if you export an stl file from eg Solidworks, you cannot load it back into Solidworks without loosing a lot of functionality.
