The problem was with old firmware!
-
You made your own custom UMO firmware using @amedee firmware builder and it didn't work. Ok, what did you changed and what board you where using.
When you say 'second board'. It was an official ultimaker 1.5.x board or something else?
Details please. Also, as long as you don't change any setting the firmware build is just like the official for UMO or UMO+ boards.
Where you using a official/real/notclone board?
Only sensor to 104GT, and baud rate to 115200.
Nothing else.
First unresponsive board was to 104GT and sensor for heated bed + 225000 baud rate (I thought that baud rate caused that I cannot upload firmware either through Cura or Arduino IDE).
I mean Arduino Mega 2560 (pretty much regular arduino board).
After disconnecting original Arduino Mega board I wasn't able to upload anything (timeout) Cura / Arduino IDE.
Same happened with second board (original Arduino Mega 2560).
I have uploaded other firmware (Cura/Arduino IDE) before this one and had no issues.
After I've uploaded a firmware from this site for Ultimaker, Arduino Mega is dead, unresponsive and can't install any firmware (even just few lines of random code, just to clean it out)
I got the same problem, but i found the solution!
1) take the arduino off the ultimaker pcb
2) turn off usb from arduino
3) take jumper and place it on the right (lighted it)
4) open arduino with ready to upload scheme
5) connect arduino to usb and upload firmware as fast as you can
if fails try to hold reset button and turn off and turn on the jumper ( with usb )
At 3rd attempt my arduino work nice now!

Same answer as above, if you provide me with what you installed I can have a look at it...
I double checked the server and there isn't anything wrong there, it is still building valid firmwares.
Note that the builder gives you an md5 hash for the firmware you build, you should always check that your download is not corrupted by checking the hash on your computer.
This is build that i installed. It worked for about 30 seconds. Then arduino became warm and now i cant upload nothing to it. this is build that i installed. http://dropmefiles.com/vUGUW

I've got the same problem.... I made a firmware with 104gt for ext0 and 100k epcos for bed and now i cant connect to 3d printer with any tool and can't update the firmware...

Hello everyone! I have a problem with my ultimaker original. There is an error.
[ERROR] Error:0: Extruder switched off. MAXTEMP triggered !Errorrinter stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting)
If i connect UO electronics without any wire connected, should it give me this error?
Sorry for my bad English. Thank you!

Maybe someone has an UMO? Really need this, because my pcb lies near printer...
-
Yes! and another one is a little bit longer. Can you help me to find it?
-
i'm not sure this will fit ultimaker original...
They are like a nuts.

Sorry, can't open this page(( http://prntscr.com/8sq8zr
I need them to hold on electronics on ultimaker original

Hello everyone, i have a problem. I lost my threaded spacers. Can someone tell me the exact size of them?
these white things i'm talking about.

Hi there, is there any way to help you to translate cura to Russian for example? I will do it myself for free, only mention my name.
If you need such a help, let me know. TY

I think that problem is with your feeder stepper driver, try to increase voltage a bit, and loose your feeder screw. As for me, my ABS settings are - 250 temp, 100 HB, 0.1-0.15 layer height ( more than 0.15 my ultimaker feeder stop working on 4th layer.

Hi there guys , I had a trouble, my z axis started to miss some steps when going up. Tried to increase voltage on stepper driver, lubricated the 2 z rods. But it still miss, thx for your help!

To take the Bowden tube out of the E3D hotend, you have to push the little plastic ring down (towards the hotend) and then pull out the Bowden tube.
ATTENTION: Make sure you don't apply too much force on the printer gantry (the 6mm shafts which hold the hotend). If you bend those shafts, then you're in for some replacements...
Now, the interesting question is, why did your hotend clog?
- Did you measure the diameter of your filament (with a precision caliper)? It must be around 2.85mm, and NOT 3.00 mm. Even though it says "3mm filament", it MUST actually be 2.85 +-0.1 mm. Otherwise, it will get stuck in the Bowden tube or even in the hotend.
- Did you install the small fan which cools the heatsink and did you always run it at 100%?
- Is the thermistor mounted correctly / does it show reasonable temperatures?
/edit:
One question to the experts:
How important is it to run the "PID autotune" after switching hotends? Is this function reliable? I have never done it (never actually changed hotends on a printer) myself...
So the problem was that filament just couldnt het through the tube to the hotend, because of bad tube positioning and i forgot to use blue clamp. Now its okay, but ive broke my thermistor . Can i connect k type thermocouple without dissoldering 4.7k resistor?
-
Need your help. After a few hours of using hotend, I think filament stucked in extruder, I couldnt push filament to the extruder. What can I do? And how to take off tube from the. E3d extruder?

Hi all, i need your help. Think smth wrong with print quality, dont know the problem.is this happrn becausr of cura.or snth else. Thabk you for your reply
-
Direct. It hard to tell where you have it connected but it should between the pads martked R23,
Judging by the fact it appears you have two sensors connected, do you also have a heated bed? If so, you need two 4.7k resistors. One across the R23 pads and one across the R4 pads.
This shows where the TWO resistors need to go if you using the E3D thermistor with a heated bed that also uses a thermistor:
I got it, thank you) Maybe u know where in old electronics such as old tv or radio i can find a 4.7k resistor? ))
-
Ok but can you tell me the difference between e3d thermistor and for example K type thermocouple which i use before e3d with heated bed
-
Should i connect it to thermocouple sensor board or direct?
-
-
Ultimore, did you solder the 4.7k resistor in the correct place on the UM controller shield?
how to check it?
-
And guys, i tried to connect e3d thermistor like original one, changed in firmware to
ATC Semitec 104GT-2
but temperature is incorrect, it showss me about 100 C. What should i do?
-
Can you please post here, how to mount your hot end plastic? i tried to mount and it doesnt touch end stopper, post photo here pls!

https://www.youmagine.com/designs/e3dv6-printhead-mount-for-ultimaker-original
Here you go.
I will be completing the design with instructions, pictures and additional parts during the week.
Note that if you decide to already print the mount, you will have to look out for the small built-in supports that I placed on the edges of the two main tunnels that hold the bearings (prints much better with them!), and another "bridging helper" (same as with the tunnels) at the hole where you route the fan wiring through the main body and to the center of the mount. I'll write up the PDF documentation asap
Hi, can you add cm3 to you stls?
Bultimaker is destroying Arduino on Ultimaker ??? Second motherboard damaged by firmware from this site

You changed something else than just "104gt for ext0 and 100k epcos for bed", the firmware you posted does not match these settings.
Well if it worked 30 seconds, it means that the build generated valid Arduino code, so the builder itself is not broken.
It remains 2 possibilities:
1 more thing i ve chosen was 500ms pwm. Right now i couldn't receive my arduino and made this setting 200ms, now everything works find.
