  1. Hi there,

I'm having some issues with a few materials and colors. I've printed the same file over and over again but sometimes the result is as below. You can see that the letters are not filled out correctly and that there are some flaws in the surface and outlines.

What do I need to adjust to get this right?

  2. Hi I'm testing a lot of materials right now with my UM2 Extended and have this issue with "streaking lines", especially on the top surface and sometimes between details.

They happen with almost any material and seem to be in the same place every time. I tried alternating the flow, temperature increase retract a little, adjust speed (print speed never exceeded 50mm/s).

As you can see I tried to remove some of them with a scalpel but they remain visible.

Please see the following pictures. Does anyone know how to solve this?

  3. Did you put the plugin's .py file in the /Contents/Resources/plugins folder contained in /Applications/.../Cura 15.04.app? If so, a restart of Cura is enough to make it usable.

    I'm on OS X 10.9.5 with Cura 15.04.3.

Yes I did that but after restart nothing showed up...

  4. Hi,

I'm using Cura 15.04.3 for mac.

The open plugin location button does not seem to work and placed plugin files in the Cura Plugin folder (copied in this folder) did not show up in the available plugin list within Cura (also after restarting Cura and after reboot.

I could not find a step by step manual how to install the plugins, so I don't really know what I have to do...

  5. Hi I found some useful plugins for cura which I want to try out but can't find a step by step manual or tutorial how this works. What i did found was to put the plugins in de plugin folder but:

    - Which file(s) are the actual plugin and what additional files should be places in the folder?

    - Do they need to be placed in a parent folder or just all together in the main plugins folder? (some plugins contain a lot of different file types)

    - Do I have to do this by just draging them into there or do the files need to be installed somehow?

    - Do I need to restard Cura to make files visible? How do i get to see them in Cura?

I've tried several things but nothing worked so far.

I'm using the latest Cura version in advanced mode for mac.

How to I get this to work please?

    Thanks for any help!

    Best regards, Mickael

  6.

But still I'd rather see stuff like this put into a user friendly software function in Cura. But that's just my opinion of course... :)

Again, I'm not sure, but I think you are talking about Marlin.

To be honest with you I'm new to all this and don't know Marlin, I only use Cura on my mac.

What I understood is that Marlin is the software running in the printer itself right? Obviously if one would integrate features like mentioned above in Cura, some programming/updating in machine software/firmware might be needed as well.

If this would be in Cura, a next step would be calculating prices for different material profiles because you could add cost price per kg/750gr etc. I can see this as a useful all in one manerial wizard in Cura. But maybe it's easier said than done...

  7. Hi I get the initial idea, nevertheless I think it's user unfriendly and not contributing to the overal Ultimaker experience (these are small things I would expect from a high end manufacturer;)). Meanwhile I found the way to import/export and text edit, which is not hard to do indeed. But still I'd rather see stuff like this put into a user friendly software function in Cura. But that's just my opinion of course... :)

    Thanks anyway for your reply!

  8. How about a material wizard in Cura? Allowing to add and modify material presets including renaming. How am i supposed to know what all the custom presets correspond to? (besides writing it down and hang a printed or written list of material setups on my UM2?:(

If you could make a material setup in an integrated material wizard it would als so be nice to have a store/import/export feature to easily share different material profiles...:)

Would also be great to be able change the names in the Material settings in the UM directly using the rotary dial.
