Hier ein Bild des Zylinders mit genau demselben Fehler.

Also das "grinden" ist es nicht. Jetzt bin ich seber gespannt und auch betroffen. Ich habe heute ein zylindrisches Teil auf meinem UM2+ ausgedruckt und hoppla: bei 12,7 mm habe ich genau denselben Mist. Langsam habe ich Cura 15.04.5 in Verdacht.

Hi Rob, das habe ich ebenfalls beobachtet. Es tratt stets dann auf, wenn ich das Filament gewechselt habe. Nach näherer Betrachtung fiel mir auf, dass der schnelle Vorschub, der das neue Filament zur Druckdüse transportiert viel zu "weit" fährt. Das Filament knallt regelrecht in die heiße Druckdüße und schießt an der 0,4 mm Öffnung heraus. Währenddessen schleift sich hinten am Vorschub (Feeder) eine nette 1 cm große, runde Fläche aus dem Filament, das typische "grinding". Trotzdem läuft der Vorschub erstmal ganz normal weiter und irgendwann wandert genau diese angeschliffene Stelle zur Druckdüse vor. Das war bei mir auch bei etwa dieser Druckhöhe, bei vergleichbaren Teilen. Es tritt dann diese merkwürdige "underxtrusion" auf. Ein bis zwei Z-Schichten werden sehr schwach gedruckt, danach verschwindet der Effekt wieder. Mir half es beim Filamentwechsel schon etwas früher den Schnellvorschub zu aktivieren. Ich warte nicht mehr bis das Filament den ersten Clip erreicht wie die Anleitung rät. Grinding kann noch andere Ursachen haben. Darum habe ich mir jetzt einen kugelgelagerten Filamenthalter gebaut. Wenn es bei dir immer wieder auftritt scheint es einen Zusammenhang mit dem Druckstart zu geben. Da wird vor Druckbeginn etwas mehr Filament durch die Düse gefördert. Das ist der Moment in dem sich dein Feeder vermutlich ins Filament schleift. Ich würde die Andruckkraft am Filamentvorschub prüfen, eventuell ist er auch verschmutzt.

Thanks for your replies. Lowering the fan speed to 80% improved it. Next I will lower the bed temperature from currently 65°C. This is probably too hot. I like your snot and mucus comparison ;-)

Since I updated Cura and UM2+ firmware to version 15.04.5 last week I can oserve a strange effect on my PLA prints. The first 2 to 3 mm of a model seem to shrink and are noticable drawn inwards. Looking at the bottom surface the corners have not lifted. So it is not a problem of bed adhesion. Has anybody observed this effect and is there a way to fix it?

I solved the issue by glueing the cables to the front panel. For better access I removed the right side panel, then added some drops Pattex 100% and pushed the cables down with a clamp. This glue is great. It stays flexible and glues almost every material. Only downside is it takes 24 hours to cure.

Same situation on a brand new UM2+. The red connecting wires between the LED strip lights touches the pulleys in the upper right and left corners. The cables will slowly grind down until they short circuit. What shall we do?
