  1. Available mid-May.  After I have finished printing PPE.

Lightly used Ultimaker S 5 3D printer. This is considered the top of the line desktop FFF printer. I bought it 3 months ago to print PPE for my local hospital, medical clinics, Dentists and my barber.  It has only been used for hobby related prints and my current project.  The AA 0.4 printhead has only printed 9.4 reels of filament.  The BB 0.4 less than one.  Prior to this machine I had only been familiar with Formlabs printers. This Machine works like a dream, but has way more features than I will ever need. I don’t think I will ever print in nylon X, or using support material.  I bought a Simi-Truck when I need a pickup.   It is in perfect condition.

Please note: It does not have A WIFI CARD ON THE MOTHER BOARD.  This is because it was originally shipped to Israel and in 2018 Ultimaker was still finalizing their wireless agreements.  That said I have been using a network extender and plugging the ethernet cable in to it.  I will include a new network extender.  The unit can be shipped to Rbrc8 in Tennessee and for $370 they will insert the card recalibrated the machine and ship it to you.

    WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

    • Glass Plate (already installed)
    • Spool Holder with Material Guide
    • Power Cable
    • Ethernet Cable
    • USB Stick
    • 2 x Ultimaker Print Core AA 0.4 (one Print Core AA is already installed)
    • 1 x Ultimaker Print Core BB 0.4 (already installed)
    • XY Calibration Sheet - Glass Plate
    • Calibration Card
    • 3 x Nozzle Cover
    • Glue Stick
    • Oil
    • Grease
    • Hex Screwdriver 2mm
    • Roughly $400-500 of filament

I would prefer local pick up and cash. Shipping is possible but shipping and insurance costs are the buyer’s responsibility.

  2. I am printing the Prusa PPE face shields.  I brought the stl part into Fusion360 to tinker with it.  The imported dimensions were grossly off compared to the real dimensions. See the values below.  The drawing on the right is my redesign.  When I send it to Cura 4.6 the model is in a very small size.    Cura does not show  the dimensions I used but on the build plate and in real life the print is very small.  I could use some explaining, please.

  3. This started yesterday.  I opened a previously printed file (macOS ).  The model is opened as one would expect,  then 2 seconds later the arrangement changes.  It rearranges to look like this. It loses it's orientation.  Any help would be appreciated.

  4. For some reason using some of your settings I don't  see any stringiness.  I am printing at a layer thickness of .3.  I found a sign maker with a laser cutter.  Each face plate is between $1-2 depending on the material.  The acrylic is the more expensive.  I tried thick .17mm PVC, but the laser generated chlorine gas, and did not cut well.

    Hi  @DrCeeVee!

thank you for your reply, I will try the 3 piece print during the week, but surely it will be easier to print them with zero issues.

Usually i print the stacked version because i have 8 printers working 24/7 on these visors, and it is a lot easier for me to concentrate the post processings in the morning to optimize the working day. I have to say that printing the stacked version on Prusa hardware is really better ( of course, this design is optimized for their printers) and no stringing at all. Probably this is thanks to their additional cooling fan.

anyway, the results on the S5 are quite good, i will try to optimize and keep you informed if i find a good printing profile for the stacked version!

  6. I am having issues printing in PETG. PLA was a breeze, until I ran out of it. I have tried various temperature ranges from 2:35 up to 250. Reducing the infill. Increasing the build plate temperature to a maximum of 75. I can’t seem to approach the quality of using PLA. Does anybody know why I have so much more debris in my machine with printing PETG? Any help would be appreciated.

  7. I am up and running. Prints are turning out great.  I bought my printer from a person in Israel.  It was sent in two boxes.  I got the printer in the first box, but no spool holder, Bowden tubes,  pva...etc.  I found a spool holder on Thingaverse and printed it on my Formlabs printer.  I tried to use ice maker tubing for the Bowden tubing but that failed.  Had to wait until fbrc8.com sent the tubing.  I could not get wifi to work just ethernet port.  I eventually found out via Ultimaker support that Israel has some sort of restrictions on wifi devices.  The machine I bought did not have wifi.  I added an Apple AirPort Express to the ethernet port .  Now I have wifi.  So my Rube Goldberg device seems to be working well, all is good
