  1. I made a video on how you can add a custom printer to Cura via creating your own definition files. this allows the maximum flexibility when it comes to your print settings and works with any printer, including customized printers and machines you made yourself! there are not much material on this topic out there, so I though it might help some of you Cura fans with printers that are not listed in Cura's machine library.
  2. I was wondering if there is a complete list of all the metadata variables I can use in my custom printer files! maybe something similar to the "settings" section of the fdmprinter.def file where all the possible "overrides" are gathered in one place!
  3. Oh yeah! it only works when you add your printer once you have changed the definition file! I was hoping to see the changes being applied after having a printer set up (for example how it updates the variants_name or has_materials) thanks for clarifying!
  4. my initial guess was that you define your default material somewhere in the machine configuration files (Cura profiles!) so I looked and found : "preferred_material": "generic_pla", I changed its value to "generic_abs" hoping it would change my default material but nothings happens! the new material name also matches the name of its file in "materials" folder in "resources"! and I also checked and it's not in the excluded materials in the definition file! any thoughts?
  5. Hi Toylerrr! I actually found Eugr's profile from your forked repo! this is some good stuff! wish you would've added more documentation to it tho!
  6. Hey Torgeir! yeah, I figured people might want that, as several folks asked for it in the FlashForge forum. I could find an article on Cura's GitHub where it says what should you do to make a custom profile, but not many videos are out there to walk you through it! will see if I get the chance to make another vid!😉
  7. here is the link: Made a quick tutorial on how to install a Creator Pro profile for Ultimaker Cura! I couldn't find any videos out there so I thought it may help some people! let me know if you want a video to dive deeper into the .json files that I used in this tutorial and what is inside them (and possibly how you can make one on your own for another printer that is not listed in the the Cura machine library). Share this with your friends who have the Creator Pro, and if you couldn't figure it out, ask your questions in the comment section and the community will help!
