  1. You're right Cura and the printers are differents thinks, even if it's the same company behind. I've done some experiments and talked with the Ultimaker support, I've posted a summary here, if you are interested πŸ™‚ Spoiler : maybe it will come in a futur firmware release πŸ™‚
  2. I've spent some time exploring the Filament Change and Pause at Height features on my UM2C. Unfortunately it's not very well hanlded as you guys suggested, but at the end I found an "OK" solution. Here is a summary of my tests (Fimware 1.5.2, Cura 5.1) : - Pause at height - Marlin (M0) => βœ“~ - Griffin (M0) => βœ—βœ— - BQ (M25) => βœ“~ - RepRap (M226) => βœ“~ - Repetier/OctoPrint (@pause) => βœ“~ - Filament change - Firmware conf => βœ—βœ— - Marlin (M600) => βœ—βœ— - RepRap (M600) => βœ—βœ— βœ“~ : Travel only : priter just travels in park position then returns to work immediatly βœ—βœ— : Ignored by printer So to recap, Filament Change is just totally ignored, but some of the Pause at Height commands do something. So at the end, because the pause button on the screen works quite well (we can even change the filament), I use one of theses pause command to notify me when to manually tap the pause button (the traveling of the gcode pause command does a different motor noise). It's clearly not ideal, but it's works. I've talked with the Ultimaker support to have more information about this, and here are some quotes of their answers : So maybe it will come in a futur firmware release πŸ™‚
  3. Well I understand your saying, but I'm not really talking about tinkering here : it's a native Cura function, and moreover you can explicitly pause the print with the printer's screen button, so it's just a matter of linking / finding the right gcode command to start the pause πŸ™‚
  4. I've tried the "Pause at height" script instead, with high hopes, but it's the same : it's totally ignored by the printer. You are quite right, it's a great plug & play printer, but it misses a lot of basic features... A lot which the preivous UM2+ had ! For a 2 grand printer, it's quite a shame... Any plan on fixing this with new firmware @Ultimaker ?
  5. I've just tried the filament change post-processing command, and I confirm that my UM2C ignores it completely, even almost a year after (on firmware 1.5.2). Any news on this please ? EDIT : the 1.5 firmware explicitly talk about that : "Change material while print is paused". But the plugin still doesn't work
  6. Thank you for all theses answsers. 1. The Ziflex is less than 3mm thick, and is directly ON the glass plate. In order to compensate this thickness, I need to screw the 3 screws much more, but I reach the maximum point before 2mm, so the printer head touch the plate during calibration phrase. I see no way how to fix that... The issue, as @Smithy said, is that currently there is ONLY the screw method to calibrate. As such, I don't understand your suggestion @gr5 ? It's already on the glass, so it's on the other way. Actually I can go much further when unscrewing (doesn't help here though) EDIT : maybe I can use the printer settings on Cura to help me with that ? Any idea how ? 2. Is the S-line faster to boot then ? 5. I'm connected through WiFi, but still have the open wifi (used for the first connection). For the others points, I've seen in the changelogs that they added new feature in the 1.2, so I hope the ones missing will soon appears in the coming weeks.
  7. Hello, I've just bought a brand new UM2C, coming from UM2GO. I'm very happy with the print quality, it's a real gap. But I'm quite disapointed by the software : there are way less options that on my previous printer, and it's heavily slow. Some details : 1. I've added a Ziflex on the plate, but unfortunately I can't use my printer anymore because the calibration is only physical (using screws) and I've reach the end before teh right settings. On the Ultimaker 2 Go there is a 'software' calibration first where you can move the plate up and done, which would solve this issues. How can I do the same ? 2. It's very slow to start, much much more than my old UM2GO, way more than my laptop... And it's brand new, what's happening ? 3. The feature "Skip cooldown" introduces some bugs : If I change the material, then skip cooldown, and immediately start a print, it will hang forever on the "preparing" screen. 4. How can I change settings while printing, like the printing speed ? 5. I'd like to use my printer on my local network, without internet, how can I do that ? 6. The open WiFi of the printer is always on, even after it's connected to my network, how can I disabled it ? I'm on firmware 1.2 Thanks for your help. Have a nice day.
