  1. Bumping my old thread - Re: the "Support Infill Layer Thickness" setting. I've found that adjusting this setting to match the model material layer height generally fixes the issue I was having. Is there a reason why this setting doesn't automatically adjust to match? These images show the difference in the cura render of the 2 layer heights:
  2. Hi everyone, I've noticed that on my cura (5.5) when I slice my models, the support slices with gaps between the layers and when I print the PVA doesn't stick to the lower layer. We have a computer with Cura 4.12 and when I slice it on that version it looks completely fine and prints perfectly. I'm guessing that there is a setting I need to adjust but I have searched for similar problems and I have no idea what setting that it might be. Can someone please help and tell me what I need to change? Thanks in advance! Layer Gap Demo.3mf
  3. Hi gr5, thanks for the reply & tips. We'll try decreasing the humidity further and report how it goes. Usually the new spools work just fine, which may indicate that it is in fact a humidity issue.
  4. Hello, We have an Ultimaker S5 at my office, usually we print PLA or TPU and use PVA for support. We've been noticing that as the PVA spool gets low, the material starts to jam and the feeder grinds the material down. Our guess is that the material is wound tighter towards the end of the spool and is causing the feeder motor to work harder to move the filament through the bowden tube, causing it to fail. Attached are images of the spools when we've had to replace them plus pics of our dry boxes & storage. Guessing humidity is not the culprit here so we're wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and if there are any resolutions. Thanks!
