Hi everyone,

I've noticed that on my cura (5.5) when I slice my models, the support slices with gaps between the layers and when I print the PVA doesn't stick to the lower layer. We have a computer with Cura 4.12 and when I slice it on that version it looks completely fine and prints perfectly. I'm guessing that there is a setting I need to adjust but I have searched for similar problems and I have no idea what setting that it might be. Can someone please help and tell me what I need to change? Thanks in advance!

You have Support > Support Infill Layer Thickness set to twice your normal thickness. Cura's preview mode doesn't support different layer heights in the same layer, so it just draws fat lines every second layer. It doesn't affect the print at all, it will print as intended.

He does say though : "the support slices with gaps between the layers and when I print the PVA doesn't stick to the lower layer" ==> I don't know if this representation has not any impact on the actual Gcode and travel.

I find myself having hard time to print PVA that won't stick to itself and I would definitely say that it's especially the case when Support Layer Thickness is at 0.3mm when everything else print at 0.1mm, that would be ignoring the causality fallacy : the actual model i'm using this setting with, are the most difficult and very prone to fail because of tiny patch of PVA, discontinuous lines, etc. So it might just be that instead of various layer thickness being at root cause.

Bumping my old thread - Re: the "Support Infill Layer Thickness" setting. I've found that adjusting this setting to match the model material layer height generally fixes the issue I was having.

Is there a reason why this setting doesn't automatically adjust to match?

These images show the difference in the cura render of the 2 layer heights:
