Motor and Clamp problem: Grinding Filament Am I missing a part?

the spring appears too long, and only pushes the rotator against the motor drive and the filament gets crushed

I don't know what if any of the photos showed up?

It appears that there should be another spring pushing back against the spring pictured.

I need the spring to be looser, cause it just grinds the filament (see picture)
