Hi Guys,

First post so hello to everyone on the forum.

I wanted a Formula 1 style steering wheel to mount on my Fanatec Universal Hub so I decided to model one up and print it out on my Ultimaker 2.

The project is nearly complete and is only awaiting the wiring up of the Leo Bodnar electronics.

My initial worry was that my design would not be sturdy enough but its rock solid.

I tried printing rubber handle covers with Ninja Flex but gave up due to frustration. I ended up brush painting the handle grips with about 10 coats of Plasti Dip. Its OK but the finish is not that smooth so I have ordered a larger tin of Plasti Dip so I can actually dip the entire handle and hopefully get a smooth finish.

Please take a look at my Flickr Photo Stream for more pictures.
