Bad setup

Quite bummed. We (5 experienced 3d printer users with 3 years experience each) couldn't get the #1 AA head to print---right out of the box. We ran all of the calibrations and followed the setup procedures exactly. It looks as though the extruder was not getting hot enough, though the screen said that it was and the red light was glowing steady. We ran checks and all seemed okay but we couldn't get the PLA to come out of the extruder. It is quite frustrating.

We know (Or think we know) that the feeder motor is working well because the print requires the feeder motor to pullback the filament then feed it forward quickly at one point. It did this well enough. The knurled wheel chewed up the filament when it wasn't able to feed it through the nozzle tip.

What can we check?

Oh, and the NFC scanner didn't read the PLA spool right out of the package, yet it would read other spools placed on the number 2 spot.

Hi and welcome to the community,

If i understand well, the AA core in the first slot didn't extrude filament. Is it the case when you loaded filament the first time?

Could it be that something went wrong during the loading of filament? That it got chewed somehow and is blocking in the bowden?
