hello, i was excited to learn about the infill patterns and shell patterns!  i had some odd looking flat surfaces.  anyway, i switched shell top/bottom pattern and bottom pattern initial layer to lines. in the preview, i'm using 3.1, it looks great.  in the actual print - which failed for another reason - it looked like the attached.  as close as i can figure, the out-of-place lines are similar to the travel lines which are previewed in blue on my screen.

 

is there a way to eliminate this from printing? or is it something other than travel lines?

    update. indeed someone else has had this issue :) i saw that retraction seemed to be the issue.  in cura i was able to disable combing mode, i set it to off. then i made sure retraction was enabled.  i did nothing with z hop when retracted.  the 1st layer looks better with no angled line in it and i'd guess that the infill will not have those lines either.
