cura putting supports in the air above the bottom of the build plate

Hello all,

I'm using cura 3.6 just downloaded, and using the stock support settings trying to print the front.stl for the open RC F1

car.  It's creating supports (everywhere selected) but the supports start off in air and do not touch the build plate.

I've tried reading and adjusting settings but to no avail, wondered if someone possibly had an idea to get me in the right

direction.

Screenshots and stl attached.

Thanks!
