Posted · Help collapsing cura configurations?

I am using Cura 4.0 as an appimage on Debian Buster.

I've been bringing my configuration forward for some time, but I'm realizing my configuration directory is becoming a mess.  One thing I've noticed is that in ~/.local/share/cura/4.0/definition_changes there are 2 copies of all my profiles, based on what looks like 2 different extruder configurations, which I should only have 1?  I tried to do some cleanup and I've just borked my config, where cura has asked to reset my config directory.

I don't understand the syntax of the .cfg files and how they reference each other, and I can't find great documentation on how this works.  Does anyone have a resource?

I have an entire copy of my config directories here: https://www.surfrock66.com/CuraSettings.2019.05.15.zip  I'm wondering what could be modified to reduce my configs to just what I am using?
