Posted · Stupid question, gcode variable population?

Hey everyone, I'm coming over from being a long time S3D user and I'm having what might be a miss understanding. I have a FFCP and for starters I'm going off of an already created profile with my own tweaks to it on Cura 4.5.0. I'm using almost all of my Start and End gcode I created in S3D but something that has me perplex in Cura is where these gcode "placeholders" or "variables", not sure on the correct name, are defined. For example in the start gcode that came with this already created profile, there is a line that says "{nozzle_wipe_gcode, initial_extruder_nr}" and in the generated gcode of my print, this line is populated with gcode that I'm not sure where it came from.

Is there a file within Cura that has these definitions? I searched within the profile I downloaded, and the only mention of this line is what's found in the supplied Start gcode. I know I could just not use that line and use my own set of instructions, but I would like to know where these definition lie and if there are others I like, I may just use them to simplify everything.
