Select 3D part surface and input force (for finite element analysis plugin)

Hello, I'm trying to make a finite element numerical analysis plugin for Cura (to preview weak points before printing), but I'm having trouble with this task:

In Prepare, or Preview, or even a completely new stage, I want the user to be able to click a surface of the 3D part, and input a force that will be applied to the printed part. Right now clicking a part just selects the whole part. Can this behaviour be changed either by a plugin or by modifying Cura engine?

Ideally clicking a surface would open a prompt with a numerical input, and the information would be saved and used later for the analysis.
