Print job not starting (Intermittent)

Hello,

I'm having an issue with my utilimaker2 where the printer does not reliably start print jobs.

Symptoms:

 

• The printer completes its heating cycle and enters into the printing phase but (intermittently) hangs up (with 6 hrs print time indicated) and wont start the print job. The printer is not frozen as the print can be abborted and restarted via the navigation wheel.
  
• Once the printer is running properly, multiple print jobs can be completed with no problem.
  

workarounds:

 

• Power cycling the printer works periodicley, however only solves the problem 10-25% of the time.
  

troubleshooting:

 

• Multiple STL files on multiple computers using the official Cura software produce the same results.
  

Possible issues

 

• SD card? (investigating)

Out of curiosity, when you say restarting it works 10-25% of the time, you mean with the same stl file, right?
