Understand retraction settings (calibration plugin)

Hello.

I need some clarification on how I am editing a post-processing script to make sure I'm understanding the values and how to change them correctly.

I'm using Ultimaker Cura 5.3.0 and I downloaded the Calibration Shapes plugin v2.2.2 from Market place.

Then, I'm using the Retraction Tower with some basic settings like:

Temp: 210ºC

Bed temp: 50ºC

Layer Height: 0.2mm

Infill: 15%, Gyroid

Print Speed: 50mm/s

Retraction: Enabled

Retraction Distance: 1mm

Retraction Speed: 25mm/s

Retraction Layer Change: Enabled

Then, in the post-processing script named "Retract Tower" I have it like this:

However, I'm not sure the Change Layer Offset and the Change Layer settings are correct, because for instance, the number of layers of the base, seems to be to be 3. Please confirm if I'm wrong:

And then, the amount of layers of each section, seems to me to be 39 and not 38 as the default values suggest, despite the fact I've seems some videos of people using 4 and 38 respectively.

From the image above of layer 4, which seems to me to belong already to the first section of the retraction tower, and then moving up the slider until the last layer of this same section:

So, shouldn't my values be as I posted at the beginning of the thread?

      • UltiMaker Cura Alpha 🎄 Tree Support Spotlight 🎄
Are you a fan of tree support, but dislike the removal process and the amount of filament it uses? Then we would like to invite you to try this special release of UltiMaker Cura. Brought to you by our special community contributor @thomasrahm

We generated a special version of Cura 5.2 called 5.3.0 Alpha + Xmas. The only changes we introduced compared to UltiMaker Cura 5.2.1 are those which are needed for the new supports. So keep in mind, this is not a sneak peek for Cura 5.3 (there are some really cool new features coming up) but a spotlight release highlighting this new version of tree supports.
