Posted · Streamline save workflow

Right now when I iterate on a print the following happens:

  • I get asked to reload (this is great!)
  • I click slice
  • It asks me for the filename (the same is default)
  • Do you want to overwrite (have to click yes)
  • You are replacing the file, are you sure (have to click yes on a different part of the screen)
  • The file successfully save, another click to dismiss

In my opinion it should be possible to:

  • have a button next to slice named "slice and save"
  • somewhere in the options disable the request to overwrite (which prompts two times)
  • somewhere in the options disable "successful notifications" with something noticeable but not requiring clicking

This way the workflow turns into:

  • do you want to reload (requires confirmation, still good)
  • "Slice and save"

"Slice and save" should not ask for a filename unless it has never been specified before, like having "Untitled" by default in notepad.
