How to glue ninjaflex?

Well, the title says it all.

What glue can be used with the ninjaflex? Up until now, the standard superglue worked perfectly for PLA, but it seems like it can't do much with the ninjaflex.

Any ideas?

How can I bond NinjaFlex parts?

NinjaFlex has a very low surface energy, so it typically does not bond well with adhesives; however, 3M trim adhesive and Gorilla Glue provide moderate bonding. The best way to connect NinjaFlex parts is with a hot knife welder.

Good to know, not tried NinjaFlex yet, but looking forward to.

    Could you report your experience?

In my experience you can gain most by sanding the rubber contact surface to be glued.

As with all (non-printed) rubber parts to glue, increasing the surface on micro-level by sanding will improve the bond.

Smooth surfaces are the hardest to glue, especially when the solvent in the glue does not work on the material itself.

I spent quite a bit of time and money on this problem. After trying about 20 different glues and combinations of primers I found a product that did an outstanding job of bonding NF to another form of rubber similar to that of tyres with no sanding or other surface prep needed. This product may also work as a primer for NF to work with another glue if it doesn't bond directly to the material you wish to bond to. In New Zealand it is available as Loctite 401.  I hope this helps :)
