So what`s the current lead time standing at for UK delivery ?

Hey ID I`m not 100% sure what I intend to do with the Ultimaker yet haha which is one of my main holdbacks… but I just know that I want to be involved in this exciting 3D printing future. I am sure it will be a mixture of work & play eventually. I currently work as a product design manager developing…wait for it… ergonomic hand controls ( Architectural Door and window hardware mainly ) and I have been outsourcing 3D prototyping for many years so I am familiar with the industry and what it offers. Can`t wait for the day when I can afford a desktop DMLS metal sintering machine! I kinda miss an old pattern maker I used to deal with though, with his incredible wood carving talents! I`m sure I could knock up a few contract design jobs which would help me convince “the better half” that this printer is necessary .

Haha, it was a great few days. I think it was from about 4 years ago...and i`m still nursing the hangover

Thanks ID. Yes it seems like my decision is almost made... now just gotta get the wallet out ! What sort of stuff do you work on in your studio?

Jonny, Thanks for the info Pal. I did consider the original Ultimaker and building as a kit... but to be honest the difference in the cost to upgrade to the 2 seems worth it. I was also considering the Form1 printer, quality looks superb... it just needs to double its print bed size! Ive just realised that my profile image was from the Zurich Street parade!!

Hello Ultimakers I have recently started researching printers. The more I look, the more I want! The usual reservations are holding me back; which printer to choose cost reliability maintenance and learning curve “ this next model printer is going to be better ....wait until…” will I spend £2000+ on a printer which eventually becomes my expensive office coffee mat :/ I am leaning towards the U2 for a few reasons, open source, nice friendly community (this forum), build size is nice, looks cool Does anybody have any recommendations/experience of where to purchase in the UK? Also, there is a considerable cost saving if I was to purchase in $USD, it is possible bringing U2 into the UK without import duty? Over & Out! Skint
