  1. Thanks for the bed temp tip ! Ive not even looked at settings anywhere yet, but I did level the bed three times before going into the first print. 10 minutes for mr robot to finish. Looks OK. Bit of underhanging, one slightly lifted corner. I need to buy silver..blue doesnt suit him http://imageshack.com/a/img24/1377/uuc5.jpg
  2. I live in the Midlands so if anybody has plans to meet let me know. I will start to keep an eye out for shows/exhibitions etc from now on too. You can teach me how to create masterpieces and i`ll buy the nice cold guiness !
  3. Thanks Sander!. Im gonna let the little fella finish of to see what he turns out like. Theres a bit of " offlift " on one corner, not too bad. but so far so good !
  4. The robot is printing Right Now arrghh...crossing my fingers ( I admit it, first try I aborted haha ) too much glue on the bed I think... now its a bit messy. What do you use to clean it off?
  5. I will take some unboxing photo`s later, but they will all be bluuurrrrdd from my nervous shaking hands lol. I`m hoping that my sweet little U2 robot comes out perfectly and the impressions are all good!
  6. Haha, I should edit it out before all those unlucky ones read it
  7. Hi Lads, (Where are all the lady printers :???: ) So, veteran users....I am about to unbox the u2 beast either tonight or tomorrow. Having never touched a 3D printer before I am a little nervous. Reading some threads on this forum can make one even more nervous  But... now that you are more experienced and wise, & knowing what you know now, but didn't "back then"... What Tips & Tricks would you offer us Noob users to get a successful print straight out of the box ? Thanks Wayne
  8. Hey Ameba Yeah I have started working on the proper Happy Corner lol but cleaning out my old office is taking MUCH longer than I hoped haha, its a real dump ! After reading all of the posts on this forum about waiting times I decided to search for a EU or UK supplier which could offer better timing. I ordered mine from http://www.imakr.com on Sunday ( 18th ) and got it delivered this morning
  9. Mine is being delivered today Last night I started to work on " My Ultimaker Corner " haha. Edit :  My Temporary Happy Corner
  10. I ordered my U2 from Imakr. They have stock from Today 18th Feb, and is being delivered tomorrow 19th !! Oh Edit: Should I drink Wine or Beer during the opening celebration
  11. Adam, That cape looks awesome, good job it was Zbrush and not traditional super sculpey haha. I used to collect busts/statues too but only have a few now. Would love to be able to sculpt like that with real clay!
  12. I had exactly the same thoughts as you Adam reference the Form1 and the SLS quality etc. Ive bit the bullet though and ordered my Ultimaker yesterday Good luck with your choice! What sort of figures/busts do you work on ?
  13. It will last longer than the £15 nonsense I have just bought from Tescos haha ( hoping gf doesnt read this ) ..and you can keep it for next year. You may need to spray it with something that smells nice tho
  14. Hey Greens, I know what you are saying and I have been in the same predicament over recent weeks/months as to which printer to buy. Support and community spirit has certainly edged me towards the U2 aswell. Build size is also key. In the end I am pretty much 99% decided on ultimaker2, but in terms of print quality goes the Form1 was my second choice rather than Makerbot, the SLS was lovely, but expensive refills plus smaller build was a none-starter !
  15. Ive convinced myself to buy it when I get home laters..as a valentines treat to myself haha... the g/f got £15 worth of roses lol, i`ll print them next year
  16. Its typical UK price to be honest... from Imakr ;/
  17. Imakr in UK told me today that they could possibly send me a U2 on Tuesday, but instead of €1895 euros it would be €2435.50 :(. Hmmmm should I?
  18. Lovely prints vinay! I was told today that I could pay for my ultimaker2... And I would have it delivered Tuesday/ Wednesday next week. But.....I gotta pay more than £500 more than what I could pay direct from ultimaker :(. Decisions decisions....
  19. I really think there could be a better choice of feeder than a section of knurled bar. The rough knurled section is digging into and damaging the medium which cannot be a god thing! It seems sensible to change both the knurled bar and the opposite polished metal driving cylinder with rubber ones. Imagine two car wheels next to each other with the PLA filament held nicely in place by the two soft and flexible tyres. Without seeing it in action..I assume both the knurled bar and the opposite wheel both rotate but in opposite directions ? Just a thought, wanted to let you know... Apologies for hijacking!
  20. I am employed but send me 10 kits and I will help build them too... might take me longer than 10 weeks though having never even seen a machine lol
  21. Ian, im sure you should work for ultimaker haha. I wish I could order one NOW and get it tomorrow !! I found another UK supplier who`s website states " in stock ". Phone up and guess what... yup wait 10 weeks arrghh !!..
  22. May I ask a question... and I`m not being horrible ( honest lol ) But... Considering that this machine seems fairly simple in its makeup, and the team at ultimaker obviously have experience in the build process etc... Why is the lead time so long ?
  23. I am at work... working incredibly hard ;/ Just spent 30 minutes reading and staring at this topic and NOW I WANT my own ultimaker space haha.
