  1. When moving my Ultimaker Original from its build location to its permanent location, two bolts fell out as I lifted it. I have no idea where they came from, and inspecting the machine, I cannot for the life of me figure out where they fell out of. I am 99% sure they are not extra bolts as I was extremely careful to not have extra parts rattling inside the unit. I have done several test prints in that location so I am guessing the machine settled and these came loose and fell out. I am going to do another much more detailed inspection, but does anyone have a suggestion where these bolts may have come out from? I don't like the idea of my unit being short two bolts... that is, to me, a recipe for disaster down the road... Otherwise, the unit is printing well... Thanks! -Jerry
  2. Using Titus/UltiArjan's string pulling method with gr5's recommendation of 190@20mm/sec, I just printed this It came out round and pretty symmetrical (68.49mm x 68.30mm). Woo hoo!
  3. Ah ok cool - i saw something about needing a heated bed for XT manufactured after Feb, but this clears it up - thanks for the advice! I just ordered some. Thanks!
  4. Im going to look into colorfabb xt for anything that might get near the hot end - does it need a heated bed? I haven't gotten to that point yet with my UM upgrades
  5. I like the second fan idea - any suggestions on what fan(s) to use (replace both?) and what hoods work well?
  6. Yeah these are I think 220C @50mm/sec which was the "default". I'll try 190C @20mm/sec tonight and make sure shell is 0.8mm. Any other settings I should look at that can have a big impact? I haven't "calibrated" the X-Y-Z steppers yet or checked my filament thickness to fine tune extrusion (micrometer coming today!). Leveling the bed was a pain until I saw that Cura has a wizard. When I replace the tape, I run it twice and that seems to work really well. Once I get dialed in, I want to print some replacement parts (new fan hood, z-axis endstop adjuster, extruder gear). Thanks!
  7. Thanks - I tried that last night, and the results were much better. When it homes, sometimes that glob gets stuck on the head which is a problem waiting to happen later in the print so I am frantically trying to pull it off before it starts printing hehe. I have been using needle nose pliers for most of this - does anyone have a better tool or way of getting a potentially disruptive glob of PLA off the head without disrupting the print? Here are the results of my first "official" print:
  8. I am definitely going - looking forward to meeting you all!
  9. Ah cool - ill try that. Those chunks in the first layer that stick to the head end up dragging all over the print. Any other suggestions, I would love to hear them! Thanks!
  10. I am getting a weird "oozing" issue when the extruder head heats up, it just starts oozing PLA nonstop... its a problem because it drags this all over the first layer and then gets on the head and is a mess unless i try and scrape it off before it ruins the print. The first robot print actually turned out decent. Once the unit gets going, it seems to be fine - just this weird issue with it oozing filament nonstop once heated and the extruder motor/wheel isnt turning... anyone have an idea why this is happening? Thanks! -Jerry
  11. I went through my Dual Extrusion Pack that arrived today (Order R426323670), and it looks like I am missing some parts based on the build instructions on the Ultimaker Wiki. I am missing the following: 2 Corrugated spring washers 1 Heater cartridge 1 Thermocouple sensor 1 Thermocouple transmitter/amplifier circuit board 2 Black spacers 15 mm 2 Ball bearings 8 mm 1 Quick fit coupling Were all of these in one bag? If so, I guess I am missing that bag. I created a support ticket (#LOO-929-22876), but I wanted to also post here to see if there is anything else I need to do. Thanks!
  12. Hi Sander - Any update on the status of my order (R462383466)? I placed it and my credit card cleared about 3 weeks ago. Thanks!
  13. Hi Sander, Could you see where I am in the Queue? My order number is: R462383466 Thanks! -Jerry
