  1. well I am not getting it at all.

I know the team is decent and not a bunch of clowns plus with a lot of outside support.

I am surprised and getting frustrated.

just to add a little more to the mix.  some printer profiles are representative of the actual printer.

the main one is WANHAO D4S, this is a dual extruder printer but the profile is a single extruder.  There is no way of changing the number of extruders that I can find on the machine settings page. so how can a dual extruder printer work with only a single extruder profile. ??

My interest is that I am helping a friend of mine how has my old Wanhao and I recommended 3.5 but am looking a bit of prat now. ?

  2. It's annoying to be honest.

it's like the error on the printer that leads to nothing, go to web page and it tells me nothing..

for some reasing I have nothing in my que, nothing on the printer. simply put there is nothing going at all. nothing sent and the que manager doesn't load up. although cura says I am connected to my printer I can't get to it through web browser using IP address.

  3. Hiya all,

just wondering what on god's green one is "sending new print jobs (temporarily) Blocked...." meant to mean. is there an idiots guide that explains this?

I am connected to the printer with 3.5.11323322505_Curaerror.thumb.jpg.0de9d270bef847eba9affc1519c96984.jpg

    Cheers guys and gals

I fully agree with this. There are many paying softwares out there that aren't better than their free counterparts.

True but I’ve gone back to S3D as for some reason, with similar settings, I can’t get results with ABS X.  But with S3D they are border line perfect.

I have no idea  why this is. I am using bond tech QR mods but shouldn’t make a difference.

But it I am truly gutted. I’ve not used S3D for about 2 years.

  5. Outside warranty so it would cost me.

It’s not static I knew that and now I also know why.

as it always seemed to be when the cores were heating up I checked at the print head.  Well it looks like the braided wire has frayed and some of the wires that go down to the block were sticking out and potentially touching the bar.

So I used some black insulating tape and taped up any of the wire.

Boom solved. No longer doing the electric boogie lol.

looks like I’m buying a new cable. ?

  6. Hiya,

I am wondering why I keep needing to override the material setting.

on the UM3 I install ABS.  I then set up Cura  slicing with ABS Orange.  I then print over network but I have to go to the online monitor in order to override the material.  when I click on the override it states I need to change the material setting on the printer from ABS to ABS Orange.????? There is no ABS Orange option when loading material so how can I???

this is not using custom material profiles this is using the Ultimaker Profiles.

Any chance this can be looked at as it's annoying as F. and a major disconnect between Slicer development and Firmware development.

    Many thanks

  7. Hiya,

just to add to the  list.  when I change one of most of the settings I don't get the Prepare button, it remains with 'print over network'.

I have to adjust the quality layer height to get the button to show.

Just get a Raspberry Pi, or a starter kit (eg https://thepihut.com/collections/raspberry-pi-kits-and-bundles/products/raspberry-pi-3b-plus-starter-kit)

Then install OctoPi on it: https://octoprint.org/download/

Note that OctoPrint is not a requirement for using the Z-Unlimited. Once you have done the conversion, you can print as you have always done (it will just take longer and result in awesomer prints)

    Hiya,

that I am aware of however I need the portion to monitor the print and some control as I am not going to sit with the printer for 2+ days lol plus pause it if I need to.

    cheers for the links ?

  9. Yeah they took it out.

but I’m seeing a need for it now.

I found that possibly because ext2 is spring loaded that when you’re trying to find the same pressure on the card that a small amount of it is absorbed by the spring hence it’s slightly lower.

  10. hiya all,

I was wondering if it's possible to get the z-calibration option back.

I have found myself needing to re-calibrate the Z on ext 2 but have to go through the whole process again and again.  I don't know why but for some reason I can't get the height right first time round.  I do all the right steps but always seems off for some reason.

    many thanks

  11. Hiya,

I was wonder why when I have ext1 set for brim, that the first layer for the support on ext2 gets printed after layer 2 of ext1.

In effect it misses the bottom layer of the support. this causes adhesion to build plate issues.

    many thanks

  12. hiya,

when you say USB, is that cable or card? if cable and using win10, it never worked for me. if using cable with USB 3.0 also doesnt work.

Have you checked the flavour in the setting in cura.  should be griffin.

    just somethings I've come across
