The plugin is installed, but it is not possible to open any of my many FreeCAD-files. Has somebody experience in this ? Must a FreeCAD-construction be prepared in any way to make it compatible with Cura ?

The import starts and almost always at the same point near 50% it reports "Invalid file".

I’ll have a quick look if I have time.

Mid I remember correctly the writer of the plug in is listed.  Might be worth dropping a message.

  2. That core was only PLA.

Not sure how many hours but a fair few.

the other core which came with the printer has had all sorts and always worked fine so I don’t understand why the other one is being like it is.  I cleaned it out perfectly too. The only thing I can think of is that the nozzle isn’t 0.4mm. Will set up a print with 0.25 setup.

As long as it slices based on line width. ?

Need to to replace it though but need to wait for some cash to come in.

  3. Ok, ignore me. it's something to do with the printcore.  I changed it and it's working well now. although I haven't upgraded the firmware again.

don't understand what is wrong with the print core though.  I cleaned it good and proper. so there shouldn't be anything wrong with it.  having said that I have had issues with that core in the past.

Several different models have given me this weird slicing - I'll get an unrealistic amount of time/filament (12 days for something under (100mm)^3 and kilograms of plastic), along with these lines which go off to infinity and presumably are printing something over there.

Moving the object slightly on the bed fixes the issue. (300 grams/2 days after moving object by y += 5)

I have never tried to print one of these when sliced like that.

This has the air of an issue that will get ignored so I haven't bothered posting it, but here's hoping that this thread is intended to find issues with the beta and fix them.

like that it won't print as there are print lines outside build area.  tick the brim outside only and you'll loose those lines but it causes other issues,  see my post above.

    needs sorting out big time.

  5. Well this is what I have.

left it at 150% flow and right is 130%

line width is set at 0.38

I tried it with cura 3.2 and no different.

i am using bond tech upgrade but there was no difference between um 369.0 steps per mm and 492.45 steps per mm. Which I found odd any aswell.

Im pretty sure that it should be different when making this change but I am lost on this one.

  6. nope but I am struggling to suggest otherwise.

I have tried previous versions of cura and it's the same.  My UM2+ prints fine though.

do you know where I can get the previous version of the firme ware from so I can test it out.

    Cheers

  7. Good morning,

I’m on the latest firmware on my UM3.

I have noticed that my prints aren’t coming out right. Basically it’s suffering underextrusion. I tested with current beta, 3.3.1 and 3.2 cura.  All do the same where I have gaps between the lines.  I bumped up the flow to 150% and that’s fine

    110% 120% failed.

i am trying to roll back the firmware but can’t find the files I need.

    please help.

  8. Hiya all,

does any one have it when the brim outside only is unchecked that the inside brim lines go outside of the build area and becomes not printable.

Also the only way I can have layer one include the support layer is to have none of the adhesion setting select or with brim outside only unchecked.  (See first issue)

  9. hiya,

as I selected other here is what I'd like to see.

a user defined prefix based on a user defined list.

I create large multiple part models and I would like to be able to create a model specific prefix.  but I sell these parts It would make it easier when I am working on a project, to be able to have a list of prefixes I input and then select an active prefix.

  10. Thanks for the reply.

Didn’t get that from the sales pitch so was wondering where the improvement were.  The build area is a much welcomed addition and understood that.  I am also glad to see the change in build plate to an anodised one. Don’t know how that will look in relation to the prints but sounds like it’s following the zortrax style.

i always felt the UM3 auto levelling came up short with 3 points and am happy to hear it’s a lot more. Don’t mind the extra time as I want the best prints.

Didnt consider the the power demand on larger heated build area and love the idea of intergrated power supply.

I look forward to some videos of it operating with the new build plate.

I am keen to to make it my third printer. Allows me to keep my UM2+ with 0.15mm nozzle as it’s perfect at the moment.

    many thank

  11. Hiya,

    looks good so far.

Just wondering where the extra £2000 is in comparison to the UM3 is.  (genuine question)

Would like to know more about the machine before I can say it's worth the extra.  bigger build plate is certainly a welcome feature as are the doors,  kinda wondering why there isn't a top with it.

Is the active leveling the same as the UM3 three point?

The spec sheet lists the build plate as glass, does that mean the anodized version will be an upgrade?

    look forward to more details

    Looks good though

  12. Well I’m officially miffed.

Had to reset my PC which is fine, unrelated to cura.

so I thought with a clean slate I’d try 3.3 and still shit.

Am I the only one with a UM3 where this beta doesn’t work????

No response to my comments or log file.

Any one have it crash when you add the UM3 printer profile???
