If i have this problems, first operation i do is to level the bed. Second i rise the temperature of the buildplate, 65° or max. 70° C. Then i rise the temp. of the hotend, but 230°C is max. for pla for me. Next step is printing slower, 25mm/s.
And if i have to do this steps, i know it is reeeealy cheap filament... or old filament, but most of this situations are caused by cheap filament.

I have just printed these feet and they work first class - UM2 is now very quiet and don't get the rumbles etc. that I used to have with it sat on its table - Thanks for the link
I'm glad you like the feet. I am still impressed by them every day. And the self-leveling effect is also not to be underestimated.

I do not have a break from the experience with ultimakers like gr5, but I'm working in the mechanical engineering business and therefore also have some know how. So if the motor caused strong vibrations I would not decouple but replace it instead. But as I said, I'm not so familiar with 3d printers.

The buildplate is a resonance body, it will amplify each db more. If somewhere in the z-axis the gap becomes bigger, vibrations arise and you will feel the noise as much louder than it is.
Fill the gap with grease and you can sleep again ...

just a guess, but i could imagine that these hairs are caused by micro burrs (not sure if this is the correct word) on the nozzle.
did you use filament that contains particles like wood, carbon or any metal? these particles cause the burrs.
another idea: take an eraser and try to deburr the affected nozzle (i do this with the edges of skis).

cura 2.7 is not yet available for linux.
Sure it is. There’s an AppImage. That’s the only supported Linux version.
You are right, cura 2.7 ppa is it not.

you have not upgraded the hole package to 2.7, only cura-engine and some parts. cura itself remains in v 2.6 and that's the problem. cura 2.7 is not yet available for linux.

Cura-Engine and some other parts are in version 2.7, cura itself remains in 2.6 for the moment. I think this two versions are the problem.
Yesterday i had the same problem, and today cura does not even start...
