3D printing on a full size scale

Recommended Posts

A while ago I saw a prototype of this project in a video but never heard of it again until just now.

MX3D will be 3D-printing a bridge over water, with the robots who build it on the very same bridge, going from one side to the other.

Joris Laarman is also part of the team, who we may know from this famous chair.

Next to this bridge, Amsterdam is also still working on building this full size canal-house.

I must admit, we are doing some pretty cool stuff here in the Netherlands ;)

    • Taking Advantage of DfAM
This is a statement that’s often made about AM/3DP. I'll focus on the way DfAM can take advantage of some of the unique capabilities that AM and 3DP have to offer. I personally think that the use of AM/3DP for light-weighting is one of it’s most exciting possibilities and one that could play a key part in the sustainability of design and manufacturing in the future.
