Nozzle heats up manually but doesn't when I hit "Print"

I have the Ultimaker 2 extended and have done 3 prints. All worked fine, however, I tried to start a new print and the extruder did not heat up. When hitting the "remove material" button, the extruder heats up and the material comes out. Please help!

Things I've tried:

factory reset

different print

removing material and then putting it back in

[evan1034 0]

Also! When I hit print, the progress bar only gets to a half cm on the screen and then stays there saying "Heating up..."

Are you using Cura as a slicer? Is it set to the correct printer? Is the gcode flavor: UltiGcode?
