New features
Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.-

Yes, and no.
Cura 12.08 ships with revision b67dacdc8f1bd489e058e16d92ba29c364b2a8e5 of that branch.
So the firmware shipping with Cura is older then that branch, you can still get the same Marlin version as in Cura by checking out the same revision from that branch.
There have been updates on that branch, including long-filename support for the UltiController. But those changes are not as well tested as the firmware shipping with Cura.
